Exodus 10:25-29
This week, Moshe (Moses) tells Far'oh (Pharaoh) that he cannot hold on to the animals because they need them to make the sacrifice to the Almighty.
He explains it plainly and without sugar coating. Far'oh seems to have a problem with the God that has been destroying his land and, of course, God had "made his heart strong" over and over again. Pride and overestimation of the ruler's power were key ways that God had 'hardened' Far'oh's heart.
Moshe told him that there is no way they would know what kinds of sacrifices would be required of them until they make the alter and hear from their Creator. He told Far'oh that "not one hoof will be left behind when they go.
Far'oh then swears that Moshe would never see his face again and threatens the life of Moshe, should he ever come before him again. Moshe confirms it all by repeating the ruler's own words.
What a way to end a chapter. Cliff hanger.

But Moses said, "You must also let us have sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice to YHVH our God. Our livestock also must go with us; not a hoof shall be left behind, for we must take of them to serve YHVH our God, and we do not know with what we must serve YHVH until we arrive there." But YHVH hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let them go. Then Pharaoh said to him, "Get away from me; take care never to see my face again, for on the day you see my face you shall die." Moses said, "As you say! I will not see your face again."
