I believe this is a cool proposal and I think the majority will find it very appealing on Steemit.
Check in
If you’ve been on a Steemit platform for a while now or even for a couple of days, chances are you already started to create some valuable content that people love to read; otherwise what’s the point of posting?
Sometimes we are getting rewarded pretty generously, and there are posts that are still good but we receive no engagement in them. That’s okay. By just keep adding value we can outperform our competitors.
For now I would like to focus on the times when you do get payed for all of your posts and comments. Doesn't that feel awesome to see how your $ value for a particular post increases?
I bet you’re checking your blog or your wallet quite often to see whether somebody new hit that upvote button or not :) There is nothing to be ashamed of, this is how it works.
This one thing
But there is this one thing that started bothering me, and that’s the number of actions you have to complete in order to check your pending payouts.
For now the algorithm is the following:
- Open your blog or replies page
- Scroll through all of the items to check which are highlighted with blue color (that means somebody upvoted that item)
- Click on the little arrow to see the amount of pending payouts and some more details
The problem
What can I say? It works perfectly, but only if you want to check one post or one comment. What if you have thousands of posts and comments in the future through which you want to browse? It will take too much time to estimate how much profit you’ll make in the next 24 hours.
Apparently there are plenty of people who will find this meaningless but I assure the majority will find it attractive.
Solution
In that way said, my proposal is to create additional entry in a wallet page. That entry will show the amount of pending payouts that a particular user is going to receive.
It might look like this:
However it might be also done in a separate tab as the following:
I don’t know when exactly upvotes are evaluated so I don’t really know the chances of showing this beforehand.
Conclusion
Nevertheless, I know that Steemit is in the beta now and lots of new components will be added and changed over time. I just want to suggest what can be very nice from a stand point of user experience, convenience and time saving.
*All of the changes to create pending payouts were made using Chrome developers tools.
