J Cole definitely one of my favorite Emcees of his era, watching his growth as a lyricist and a man was amazing. I remember he was in Dave Chappelle "Block Party" not as a performer but in the audience. Later I learn Talib Kweli & Mos Def were two of his mentos before J Cole was a household name. His music will last the test of time, being that he writes his own lyrics, make his own beats, and produce other artists.
