If you like a party song than this new track is just the one for you!!!!! Not my usual type of music but with the HipHop scene morphing into this party crazy I couldn't resist!!!!
I am not going to say that I am a fan of "Mumble Rap" but I do respect it because at the end of the day it is still part of Hip Hop. Some are really horrible Mumblers but some are pretty talented and not just retards screaming into a microphone. I still prefer hearing an actual song with some type of substance or story to tell. One of my favorite MC's from this new school is J Cole. He may not be new to some of you but for me he is still a new guy, but he's a new guy that has grown to dam near legendary status. He has much greatness in him and I can see his career lasting for many years to come. Of course I have to put Kendrick in that category but I'm old school and will always prefer my east coast homies....lol....(it's like I'm stuck in the 90's). But Kendrick is a great artist and will last for a long time.
I just can't get around the way some of these younger artists get down. I'm far from perfect but these guys are promoting the craziest lifestyles that really would never benefit anyone. Music I listened to growing up wasn't giving the best message but you didn't hear rappers promoting shit that would literally kill you. Yeah they rapped about selling drugs and robberies and all other types of crimes but there was a reward if you risked your freedom committing crime. What reward do you get from doing hard drugs and drinking poison? I'm not telling anyone to go out and start breaking the law but do not compare my era to the present one. We lived by a code and most of us still do. There is no code these youngstas live by. Oh I forgot they do live by a code and it's to have the best image no matter the cost while trying to do as much drugs as fast as possible....lol....Sad but very true.
There are loads of very talented artists that are taking this new style of rap and really evolving it and making it audible. I still don't know where Hip Hop is gonna be in five years but I do know that no matter what I want to be a part of it.
