I've eaten at Sugbo Mercado quite a few time already. This food park sells a variety of dishes in different cuisines, mostly different from one stall to another. I must say, the competition between sellers are at a maximum and the only way one could be in a competitive advantage is to make their food, as well as their booths, creative and aesthetically pleasing.
I noticed that everytime I visit the place, my order is almost always from the same vendor, despite being satisfied with their food the last time.
Take for example, this particular stall, in the first glance, you would definitely think that its worth buying considering the huge serving and affordable price. Sure, it is. I've bought my meal from this stall a few times already but I never finished the food. It taste bland as we eat along.
Another perfectly platted dish is this brunch meal my friend ordered. She said this is her go to meal, too. I tried eating from this stall once and did not enjoy it. The rice was a little bit uncooked and the pork chop was hard to chew.
Contrary to my opinion, my friend enjoyed her meal.
After eating our main course, I ordered Halo-Halo, in avocado flavor, for my dessert. This, too, is a repeat order for me. I remember telling myself not to order this again the last time I had one. I realized that the only reason I'm ordering this dessert again is because, generally, I love Halo-Halo and this is the only stall that sells them in this food park.
Therefore, I conclude that a good food presentation really creates a huge impact on people's appetite- especially if most of your costumers are occasional visitors like in this food park.
