Cocinar es de mis más grandes pasiones y cada vez que me meto a la cocina a hacer cosas de cierto modo diferentes a las que habitualmente hago, soy la más feliz, el día de hoy, estaba viendo mi Pinterest y me salió una receta divina de arepas de zanahoria, rellenas con pollo y aguacate, se podría decir que una reina pepiada (arepa venezolana) pero con la masa de zanahoria, así que dije, ¿Por qué no? Y puse manos a la obra compré los ingredientes y quise documentar el paso a paso para compartirlo con ustedes.

Cooking is one of my greatest passions and every time I get into the kitchen to make things that are a bit different from what I usually do, I am the happiest. Today, I was looking at my Pinterest and I came across a divine recipe for carrot arepas, filled with chicken and avocado, you could say a queen pepiada (Venezuelan arepa) but with carrot dough, so I said, why not? And I got to work, bought the ingredients and wanted to document the step by step to share it with you.

Ingredientes / Ingredients ✨💚

• Harina (puede ser de maíz, de avena, la de tu preferencia) / Flour (can be corn, oat, whatever you prefer)
• Zanahoria / Carrot
• Aguacate / Avocado
• Cilantro / Cilantro
• Mayonesa / Mayonnaise
• Pollo / Chicken
• Sal / Salt

Paso 1️⃣ / Step 1️⃣ ✨💚

Lo primero que haremos será poner a cocinar el pollo, en mi caso use pechuga, solo le puse un poco de sal al agua y listo, dejé que la pechuga se cocinara, para luego dejarla enfriar y desmecharla.

The first thing we will do is cook the chicken, in my case I used breast, I just added a little salt to the water and that's it, I let the breast cook, then let it cool and shred it.

Paso 2️⃣ / Step 2️⃣ ✨💚

Para la masa, vamos a licuar una zanahoria con un poco de agua, mientras en una taza vamos a tener preparada la harina de maíz, luego de haber licuado muy bien, la agregamos a nuestra harina para ahora sí, hacer la masa de las arepas, agregamos un poco de sal al gusto y listo, ponemos a calentar el sartén y vamos haciendo las arepas.

For the dough, we are going to blend a carrot with a little water, while in a cup we are going to have the corn flour prepared, after having blended very well, we add it to our flour to now make the dough for the arepas, we add a little salt to taste and that's it, we put the pan to heat and we are making the arepas.

Paso 3️⃣ / Step 3️⃣ ✨💚

Mientras las arepas se van cocinando, vamos a ir preparando el aderezo que uniremos con el pollo, agregamos aguacate, cilantro y un poco de mayonesa en la licuadora, le ponemos un poco de agua de ser necesario y nos tiene que quedar una consistencia espesa, luego lo pasamos a una taza y adicionamos el pollo que tenemos previamente desmechado, mezclamos y creamos ya el relleno de nuestras arepas.

Teniendo listas las arepas, vamos a rellenarlas con la mezcla que hicimos anteriormente y listo, nos quedan unas deliciosas arepas PARA degustar y compartir, espero les haya gustado la receta, les mando un fuerte abrazo ❤️✨

While the arepas are cooking, we are going to prepare the dressing that we will combine with the chicken, we add avocado, cilantro and a little mayonnaise in the blender, we add a little water if necessary and it has to be a thick consistency, then we put it in a cup and add the chicken that we have previously shredded, we mix and we create the filling of our arepas.
