🍜 Fun Dining Review at Mie Gacoan Kelapa Gading 🍜 After the Movies, Let's Have Some Spicy Noodles!
Hi everyone...
Being a noodle lover, I was excited to finally try one of the most talked-about noodle spots lately — MIE GACOAN! 🥢 It’s well-known not just because it tastes so good, but also because the price is really friendly on the wallet. No wonder every time I pass by its branch, it’s always packed.
Yesterday, my two younger sisters and I just watched a movie at the cinema (the movie was hilarious, tense, and left us speechless thinking about the ending 🤯). After leaving the cinema, our stomachs were growling! So without thinking twice, we headed straight to Mie Gacoan Kelapa Gading. And since our stomachs were already making noise, we ordered Mie Gacoan Level 1 & 4, plus some of our favorite dim sum dishes.
MIE GACOAN: LEVEL 1 & 4
At Mie Gacoan, there are two types of noodles: Gacoan, which has a slightly sweet taste, and Hompimpa, which is more savory. The noodles also come in different spice levels, from mild to extremely spicy (apparently level 9 can make your eyes water 😅).
We tried levels 1 and 4: Level 1 feels super safe—it’s just a mild kick, enough to tingle your tongue without setting it on fire. The noodles are nicely chewy, coated in a sweet and savory sauce that seeps into every strand all the way to the bottom of the bowl.
And now Level 4, wohooo that’s where the spiciness really kicks in, wahh! One bite and you’ll start sweating, but the spiciness is so satisfying. It’s not just spicy, but still savory and aromatic. The noodles hold a perfect bite, springy and firm without turning mushy, really perfect!
DIMSUM: MY FAVORITE & MY SIBLINGS
When it comes to dimsum, we are a team that “can't resist.” So even though there were only three of us, we still ordered several of the best sellers, and it turned out... everything was delicious!
There are so many types of dimsum, but I only ordered a few, starting with the fried dumplings with a super crispy skin that makes a “crunch!” sound when you bite into it. Inside is a savory chicken filling, and it’s even better when dipped in spicy sauce. Then there’s the Shrimp Spring Roll—thin, crisp wrapper with fresh shrimp inside. Light and tasty, and somehow even better when it’s warm. Plus the Shrimp Cheese, which is my favorite! The outside very crunchy, and the inside has melted cheese that blends perfectly with the shrimp meat. Savory, creamy, and makes you smile while chewing—we even ordered two, haha. Next, we ordered the Rambutan Shrimp, which is the most unique! Shaped like a little curly ball, it’s crunchy on the outside yet tender and juicy inside. The taste is light but so delicious—my youngest sibling even added this to their wishlist every time we go to Gacoan 🤣
And the rest includes Chicken Siomay, which is super soft and juicy inside. We also tried the Steamed Dumplings, a softer, milder take on the fried ones, tender and juicy with just a hint of garlic. Perfect for those who want dim sum comfort food vibes~
ATMOSPHERE & PRICE: IS IT WORTH IT?
The atmosphere at Gacoan Kelapa Gading is lively but still enjoyable. We were seated quickly, and the ordering system now uses barcodes, so you just scan your phone and select the menu. The food came out pretty quickly even though our order was quite large.

The prices? Well, this is what makes it even more lovable. Everything we ordered was super affordable for the portion sizes that are filling. You really don’t have to worry about breaking the bank.
CONCLUSION: MUST COME BACK AGAIN!
After leaving Gacoan, the three of us were completely full. Every dim sum we tried was absolutely delicious, and I loved that we could choose our own level of spiciness.. The place itself felt cozy and nice to just sit and enjoy a meal together with your favorit person, hihii

Out of everything, the Rambutan Shrimp totally stole the show—it’s cute, quirky, and the flavor was something special. And... my younger sibling is already planning to come back to try level 6. So, it looks like there will be part 2 of our spicy noodle adventure 😆
If you’re also a fan of noodles and dim sum, Mie Gacoan is a great spot to hang out with friends or family. But be warned... you might get hooked! 😜
