Vanilla Pudding with Cookies
Birthdays are very special dates, therefore, we all have to celebrate them in style, always in the company of our friends and loved ones, which is why every time an event of this type approaches I take the opportunity to organise a reception where food and a delicious dessert are the protagonists. It is in this way that today, in celebration of my nephew's birthday, I decided to create a pudding with very original characteristics, since it would follow the bases of the original dessert but, adding the magical flavour of soda and chocolate biscuits.

Pudín de Vainilla con Galletas
Los cumpleaños son fechas muy especiales, por lo tanto, todos hay que celebrarlos a lo grande, siempre en compañía de nuestros amigos y seres queridos, es por ello que cada vez que un acontecimiento de este tipo se acerca aprovecho la oportunidad para organizar una recepción en donde la comida y un rico postre sean los protagonistas. Es de esta forma como el día de hoy, en la celebración del cumpleaños de mi sobrino, decidí crear un pudín con características muy originales, puesto que el mismo seguiría las bases del postre original pero, agregándole el mágico sabor de las galletas de soda y de chocolate.
Ingredients
- 2 x 50g Wynco vanilla pudding boxes
- 1 packet soda biscuit
- 1 packet chocolate filled biscuits
- 1 litre of liquid milk
- Vanilla to taste
- Cinnamon to taste
Ingredientes
- 2 cajitas de pudín Wynco de vainilla de 50 g
- 1 paquete de galleta de soda
- 1 paquete de galletas rellenas de chocolate
- 1 litro de leche líquida
- Vainilla al gusto
- Canela al gusto
This is a very simple preparation to make, since when we buy the pudding box we can normally find on the back the most appropriate indications for preparation, remember that in many places in the world we can also buy the pudding in bulk, and in that case we will take as a reference the measures indicated.
Esta es una preparación muy sencilla de realizar, puesto que al comprar la cajita de pudín normalmente podremos encontrar en su reverso las indicaciones más apropiadas para preparación, recordemos que muchos lugares del mundo también podemos adquirir el pudín a granel, y en ese caso tomaremos como referencia las medidas cacas se indican.
Before starting this process I realised that I did not have the milk in liquid form, so I had to take out the blender, put a litre of water in it and pour 120 grams of Los Andes powdered milk inside. I proceeded to blend it at high speed for about a minute, thus achieving a totally homogeneous and well unified mixture.
Antes de iniciar este proceso me di cuenta de que yo no tenía la leche en forma líquida, por lo cual tuve que sacar la licuadora, colocarle un litro de agua y verter en su interior 120 G de leche en polvo completa Los Andes, procedí a licuarla en velocidad rápida por aproximadamente un minuto, logrando así una mezcla totalmente homogénea y bien unificada.
Next, place the whole litre of milk in a saucepan, and then gradually pour in the two sachets of pudding, always mixing slowly and preventing the mixture from creating unwanted lumps. It is important to note that this whole process is carried out over a low heat, so that the mixture does not stick or burn at the bottom of the pan.
Seguidamente en una olla coloque la totalidad del litro de leche, para luego poco a poco ir vertiendo los dos sobres de pudín, siempre mezclando despacio y evitando que la mezcla genere grumos indeseados. Es importante resaltar todo este proceso se va realizando a fuego lento, esto con la finalidad de que la mezcla no se pegue ni se queme en el fondo de nuestra cacerola.
A curious fact with this type of preparation is that as we are integrating all the pudding with the milk we will notice that our mixture is becoming increasingly dense, which is a good sign, for several minutes we continue stirring everything calmly and over low heat, when we begin to notice that our mixture is getting heavier and begins to stick to the edge of our pot is the ideal time to turn it off.
Un dato curioso con este tipo de preparaciones es que a medida que vamos integrando la totalidad del pudín con la leche nos daremos cuenta de que nuestra mezcla se va volviendo cada vez más densa, lo cual es una buena señal, durante varios minutos seguimos removiendo todo de manera calmada y a fuego lento, cuando Comencemos a notar que nuestra mezcla está cada vez más pesada y comienza a pegarse del borde de nuestra olla es el momento ideal para apagarla.
Once we have turned off our preparation we begin to pour all the inside of the pot on a previously selected mold, it is here where our creative abilities come into play, so this time I decided to place a layer of pudding, then on it a layer of soda crackers, and then pour the entire pudding that was left in the pot and on it will begin to place a delicious touch of cinnamon powder.
Una vez hayamos apagado nuestra preparación comenzamos a verter todo el interior de la olla sobre un molde previamente seleccionado, es acá en donde entra en juego nuestras capacidades creativas, por ello que en esta oportunidad decidí colocar una capa de pudin, luego sobre ella una capa de galletas de soda, Para luego verter la totalidad del pudín que quedaba en la olla y sobre él comenzará a colocar un delicioso toque de canela en polvo.
Once we have the pudding completely emptied in the mould if you like you can place a new layer of soda crackers and on it the previously crushed chocolate biscuit, this with the purpose of achieving in our dessert a mixed texture, which goes from the soft, to the crunchy, from the subtle of the vanilla to the strong of the chocolate.
Una vez que tengamos el pudín totalmente vaciado en el molde si gustan pueden colocar una nueva capa de galletas de soda y sobre ella la galleta de chocolate previamente triturada, esto con la finalidad de lograr en nuestro postre una textura mixta, la cual vaya desde lo suave, hasta lo crocante, desde lo sutil de la vainilla hasta lo fuerte del chocolate.
Finally it is necessary to let our dessert begin to cool naturally, that is why we must leave it in a cool place for about an hour, once this time has passed it is convenient to transfer all our mould to the refrigerator, it is here where we will decide how long we want to let our pudding curdle, as many people like it with a fairly strong texture, while others enjoy it when it is in a softer liquid point.
Por último es necesario dejar que todo nuestro postre comience a enfriarse de manera natural, es por ello que debemos dejarla en un lugar bastante fresco durante aproximadamente una hora, una vez pasado este tiempo es conveniente transferir todo nuestro molde hacia el refrigerador, es acá en donde nosotros decidiremos cuánto tiempo queremos dejar cuajar nuestro pudín, ya que muchas personas les gusta con una contextura bastante fuerte, mientras que otras lo disfrutan cuando este está en un punto más suave líquido.
Once we consider it to be fully set, it's time to take it out, chop it into chunks and hand it out to all our guests. Once we taste the first bite we will realise that this is a really delicious sweet, where the notes of vanilla, cinnamon and chocolate are perfectly distributed generating a combination of flavours that seem to be taken from paradise itself, also the texture of the biscuits that we previously put on it offer us a great stability and at the same time a mind-blowing contrast of textures, which allows us to go back through the years and remember our childhood in the most beautiful and nice way possible.
Una vez que consideremos que está totalmente listo, es hora de sacarlo, picarlo en trozos y repartirlo a todos nuestros comensales. Una vez que probemos el primer bocado nos daremos cuenta de que se trata de un dulce realmente muy delicioso, en donde las notas de vainilla, canela y chocolate se distribuyen de manera perfecta generando una combinación de sabores que parecen sacadas del mismísimo paraíso, además la contextura de las galletas que previamente le colocamos nos ofrecen una gran estabilidad y al mismo tiempo un alucinante contraste de texturas, el cual nos permite regresar a través de los años y recordar nuestra infancia de la manera más linda y hermosa posible.
