I find it difficult to listen to country music for more than one or two songs, but I do love that telecaster country twang.
Not sure how I came across Levi Clay. Either his YouTube Channel or GuitArsoles podcast. Just quietly he does seem like a bit of a ** cough ** wanker ** cough ** but if you watch some of his live feeds on YouTube doing transcriptions you can see why he might think he's a bit special. The speed in which he picks things up by ear is just mental, even without a guitar in his hands.
Anyway I thought it was about time I contributed to #teletuesday with some tele twang and came across some Brent Mason solo's transcribed by Levi. They're all pretty short, but I'm a bit time poor at the moment with our latest lockdown, or perhaps just lacking enthusiasm. Either way I think they will be fun to learn, and I reckon I can handle one a week. Having the creativity of a cardigan button I find it much easier and more enjoyable to learn solos from others than to try and improvise. I'm sill working on triads and improv stuff so one of these days I'll post something original. But until then Brent Mason does good work and I'm happy to copy him.
Enjoy!!
