Nature has been cruel but what has been learned well is applied in times of survival.
It has been more than 120 hours since Hurricane Rafael made landfall in Artemisa, about 80 km from my town.

It all started with moderate rain that gradually intensified to the point that not even the building in front was visible. The wind suddenly became intense, and the walls were shaking. Soon, water began to fall inside the house because of the column; the air had taken the waterproof covering of the building.
As soon as everything was finished in the early hours of the next day the destruction was clearly visible, with many ancient trees on the ground, and power lines affected.
After that, we have been active and participated as a family in recovery efforts and debris collection.
Meanwhile, we did not have electricity until a few minutes ago completing a little more than 120 hours, this has been the most significant impact on the family because the little stored food was at risk. We took on the task of saving everything in danger, a lot of mincemeat turned into a hamburger, but luckily it turned out excellent and now we can preserve it better.

La naturaleza se ha ensañado pero lo bien aprendido se aplica en épocas de supervivencia.
Ya han pasado más de 120 horas desde que el huracán Rafael tocara tierra en Artemisa a unos 80 Km de la localidad donde recido.

Todo empezó con una lluvia moderada pero poco a poco se fue intensificando hasta el punto que ni siquiera el edificio del frente era visible. El viento se hizo de repente intenso y las paredes temblaban. En breve empezó a caer agua en el interior de la casa por la colunma, el aire se había llevado la cobertura impermeable del edificio.
Apenas terminó todo a primera hora del día siguiente el destrozo era claramente visible, muchos árboles de antaño en el suelo, tendido eléctrico afectado.
Luego de eso hemos estado activos, participado en familia en labores de recuperación, recogida de escombros.
Entre tanto no tuvimos electricidad hasta hace unos minutos completando un poco más de 120 horas, este ha sido el impacto más significativo en el ámbito familiar, pues lo poco acopiado de alimentos estaba en riesgo. Nos dimos a la tarea de salvar todo lo en peligro, mucho picadillo convertido en hamburguesa, pero por suerte quedó excelente y ahora podemos preservarlo mejor.
