En estos d铆as que estoy estudiando para mi examen estatal he le铆do una serie de temas que me tienen ansioso de llevarlo a esta comunidad por lo valiosos que son. He le铆do sobre Comunicaci贸n para el Desarrollo, Teor铆a de la comunicaci贸n, Hipermedia y 脡tica, por solo citar algunas de las materias...
Ya deben haberlo adivinado, pero por si no lo han pillado, estudio Periodismo en la Facultad de Comunicaci贸n de la Universidad de La Habana.
Bueno, el caso es, se帽ores, que no me creer谩n si les digo que cada vez que avanzo en mis lecturas me convenzo m谩s de que la Web 3.0 y proyectos como #Hive son el futuro. Me explicar茅 a lo largo de este post, pero desde ya les digo que hablar茅 un poco de todo. Y as铆 de paso estudio para la prueba. 馃お
Breve introducci贸n sobre Comunicaci贸n. Contexto.
En el campo de las Ciencias Sociales ocurri贸 un fen贸meno a partir de los a帽os 60 ~70 que se denomin贸 "Crisis de los paradigmas". B谩sicamente, se trat贸 de que la sociedad estaba evolucionando, a la vez que ocurr铆an una serie de fen贸menos a nivel mundial que despertaron las conciencias y los modelos de an谩lisis desde lo acad茅mico quedaron obsoletos.
Si te interesa conocer en profundidad sobre la "Crisis de los Paradigmas", tema, que es mucho m谩s complejo de lo que yo menciono ac谩, te adjunto una investigaci贸n que lo aborda desde un punto de vista hist贸rico.
A lo largo de las d茅cadas posteriores, la globalizaci贸n vino con el acceso masivo a las tecnolog铆as de comunicaci贸n. Fue un proceso que si bien signific贸 un salto en el mejoramiento de las condiciones de vida, trajo una serie de retos en la educaci贸n sobre los usos y apropiaci贸n de dichas tecnolog铆as.
Internet como la conocemos hoy d铆a: de acceso relativamente libre, apenas tiene poco m谩s de 20 a帽os de existencia: Google fue fundado en 1998, Facebook en 2004, Youtube: 2005 e Instagram: 2010!!! Hago 茅nfasis en las fechas porque en t茅rminos hist贸ricos 20 a帽os es poco tiempo, pero por la rapidez con que se adpotaron estas tecnolog铆as e irrumpieron en nuestra vida cotidiana es que se le denomina al proceso de adopci贸n una Revoluci贸n Digital.
Web 3.0. Internet realmente democr谩tico.
Ante nuestros ojos est谩 surgiendo una nueva Revoluci贸n Digital y pocos se dan cuenta. En 2009, un genio an贸nimo decidi贸 innovar sobre c贸mo una unidad de valor totalmente digital pod铆a solucionar los problemas del mundo econ贸mico. 驴C贸mo lo har铆a?
- Con un suministro limitado de dicha moneda.
- Con un sistema de validaci贸n de transacciones en la red p煤blico.
- Totalmente descentralizado, por lo que no pod铆a ser propiedad de nadie, ni siquiera de su creador.
As铆 surgi贸, se帽oras y se帽ores, Bitcoin. El patr贸n oro. Pero con 茅l se populariz贸 tambi茅n uno de los inventos m谩s democr谩ticos del siglo XXI, la #Blockchain (o cadena de bloques). Los cimientos de la Web 3.0. El internet totalmente democr谩tico.
驴Por qu茅? Pues porque todos los usuarios ahora tienen propiedad sobre todos los activos o tokens que poseen en la red.
Esto es un avance tecnol贸gico, como ya dije, realmente revolucionario. Algunos lo comparan con la invenci贸n de la imprenta por el impacto que tuvo en los procesos de comunicaci贸n. Y s铆, ya volvemos a la comunicaci贸n en el siguiente bloque:
Comunicaci贸n para el desarrollo. Hive.
Si has llegado hasta aqu铆 te felicito, me imagino que no ha sido f谩cil digerir todos estos conceptos. M谩s si son expuestos intentando la brevedad y la s铆ntesis de lo m谩s importante. Pero ahora vamos al pollo del arroz con pollo (dicho cubano que nunca pasa de moda 馃槣)
Caballero, sencillo, #Hive. 馃槑
Me emociono y todo porque no s茅 c贸mo tard茅 tanto en descubrir esta red social 馃檭 (porque s铆, lo es; y a la vez son muchas redes sociales en esta blockchain).
Si #Bitcoin posee el modelo de proof of work (prueba de trabajo) para validar cada transacci贸n en la red, ac谩 en Hive est谩 el protocolo Proof of stake, o prueba de participaci贸n. Esto quiere decir que cada usuario interactuando en la blockchain de Hive es un validador de la misma.
Validador en dos sentidos. El primero es que valida la red y, el segundo: que le otorga valor a la red. Parece lo mismo, pero no lo es.
No soy poseedor de la verdad absoluta ni mucho menos, as铆 que si quieres leer t煤 mismo el whitepaper de #Hive, te lo dejo tambi茅n para que le eches un vistazo y me corrijas si tengo alg煤n error en mis interpretaciones 馃憞:
Los p谩rrafos a continuaci贸n son citados textualmente de dicho libro blanco de Hive:
Hive tambi茅n tiene como objetivo superar las deficiencias de adopci贸n generalizadas en la tecnolog铆a blockchain y la publicaci贸n de contenido mediante el mejoramiento de su accesibilidad. Aprovecha el concepto acu帽ado de prueba de cerebro (Proof of Brain), mediante la distribuci贸n de una parte de la inflaci贸n a los creadores y consumidores de contenido. (p. 3, traducci贸n propia)
La inflaci贸n a la que se refiere el whitepaper es a la que ocurri贸 cuando la bifurcaci贸n de la red de Steem a Hive, en la que las cuentas con los saldos de todos los usuarios fueron reflejados igualmente en la nueva plataforma. Proceso conocido en el libro blanco como mirroring. Para conocer m谩s sobre c贸mo ocurri贸 esta bifurcaci贸n, te recomiendo que leas este art铆culo.
Pero ahora sigamos analizando el whitepaper:
Para ganar sin inversi贸n financiera, las personas participan en una amplia gama de actividades. Estos incluyen blogs, participar en discusiones, curar a otros, construir e interactuar con dapps, juegos y m谩s; sus l铆mites s贸lo est谩n limitados por su propia imaginaci贸n para promover la descentralizaci贸n del sistema. Todo el contenido siempre est谩 disponible en la cadena de bloques y conserva su integridad original. (p. 3, traducci贸n propia)
驴Lo leyeron?, se帽ores en ese p谩rrafo est谩 la esencia de Hive y su importancia para el desarrollo de las sociedades. Hoy d铆a los estudios m谩s a la vanguardia en Comunicaci贸n contemplan el modelo de Comunicaci贸n Social Para el Desarrollo (Communication for development en ingl茅s, C4D, por sus siglas) en el que empoderar a los individuos con las herramientas para contar y reflejar su realidad es clave.
Siendo part铆cipes de los procesos de producci贸n de la comunicaci贸n, estamos en el camino m谩s seguro para alcanzar el desarrollo. Y si no creen en el potencial que tiene Hive solo basta con citar los eventos que tuvieron lugar en esta plataforma que movilizaron la ayuda solidaria para los daminificados del cicl贸n Ian, el cual arras贸 recientemente tierras cubanas.

Por esas razones, considero que Hive puede ser una herramienta de empoderamiento de las comunidades. Cualquiera con un celular y acceso a Internet puede crearse una cuenta en esta plataforma y mediante la aplicaci贸n m贸vil de #ecency ser un bloguero e integrarse a las redes de comunidades que pululan en esta blockchain para ayudarse y crecer juntos.
#HiveCuba es la de nosotros, los cubanos; y si bien es relativamente joven, muestra fortalezas que pueden ser aprovechadas para cumplir con los anhelados por todos Objetivos de desarrollo Sostenible (ODS).
En esta comunidad hay personas de toda Cuba reportando sus realidades o desbordando creatividad. 驴Por qu茅 entonces no difundir este espacio con todos?

In these days that I am studying for my state exam I have read a number of subjects that have me eager to bring it to this community because of how valuable they are. I have read about Communication for Development, Communication Theory, Hypermedia and Ethics, just to name a few of the subjects....
You must have guessed it by now, but in case you haven't caught it, I study Journalism at the Faculty of Communication at the University of Havana.
Well, the thing is, gentlemen, you won't believe me if I tell you that every time I advance in my readings I become more convinced that Web 3.0 and projects like #Hive are the future. I will explain myself throughout this post, but I already tell you that I will talk a little bit about everything. And so in passing I study for the test. 馃お
Brief introduction to Communication. Context.
In the field of Social Sciences a phenomenon occurred from the 60s ~70s that was called "Crisis of paradigms ". Basically, it was that society was evolving, while a series of phenomena were occurring worldwide that awakened the consciences and the models of analysis from academia became obsolete.
If you are interested in knowing in depth about the "Crisis of Paradigms ", a subject that is much more complex than what I mention here, I attach a research that approaches it from a historical point of view.
Throughout the following decades, globalization came with massive access to communication technologies. It was a process that, although it meant a leap in the improvement of living conditions, brought a series of challenges in education on the uses and appropriation of such technologies.
The Internet as we know it today: of relatively free access, is just over 20 years old: Google was founded in 1998, Facebook in 2004, Youtube: 2005 and Instagram: 2010!!!! I emphasize the dates because in historical terms 20 years is a short time, but because of the speed with which these technologies were adopted and burst into our daily lives is that the adoption process is called a Digital Revolution.
Web 3.0. Truly democratic Internet.
Before our eyes a new Digital Revolution is emerging and few realize it. In 2009, an anonymous genius decided to innovate on how an all-digital unit of value could solve the problems of the economic world. How would he do it?
- With a limited supply of such a currency.
- With a public network transaction validation system.
- Totally decentralized, so it could not be owned by anyone, not even its creator.
And so, ladies and gentlemen, Bitcoin was born. The gold standard. But with it was also popularized one of the most democratic inventions of the 21st century, the #Blockchain (or blockchain). The foundations of Web 3.0. The totally democratic internet.
Why? Well, because all users now have ownership over all the assets or tokens they own on the network.
This is a technological breakthrough, as I said, truly revolutionary. Some compare it to the invention of the printing press for the impact it had on communication processes. And yes, we're back to communication in the next block:
Communication for Development. Hive.
If you have come this far I congratulate you, I imagine that it has not been easy to digest all these concepts. More if they are exposed trying brevity and synthesis of the most important. But now let's go to the pollo del arroz con pollo (Cuban saying that never goes out of fashion 馃槣).
People, simple, #Hive. 馃槑
I get excited and all because I don't know how it took me so long to discover this social network 馃檭 (because yes, it is; and at the same time it's many social networks in this blockchain).
If #Bitcoin has the proof of work model to validate each transaction on the network, here in Hive is the Proof of stake protocol, or proof of stake. This means that every user interacting on the Hive blockchain is a validator of the same.
Validator in two senses. The first is that it validates the network and, the second: that it gives value to the network. It sounds like the same thing, but it is not.
I am not the holder of the absolute truth by far, so if you want to read the #Hive whitepaper yourself, I leave it also for you to take a look and correct me if I have any mistakes in my interpretations 馃憞:
The paragraphs below are quoted verbatim from that Hive white paper:
Hive also aims to overcome mainstream adoption shortcomings in blockchain technology and content publishing by improving on their accessibility. It leverages the coined Proof-of-Brain (PoB) concept by distributing a portion of the inflation to content creators and consumers. (p.3)
The inflation referred to in the whitepaper is the one that occurred when the network forked from Steem to Hive, in which accounts with the balances of all users were reflected equally on the new platform. A process known in the white paper as mirroring. To learn more about how this bifurcation occurred, I recommend you read this article.
But now let's continue analyzing the whitepaper:
To earn without financial investment, individuals partake in a wide range of activities. Those include blogging, participating in discussions, curating others, building and engaging with dapps, playing games and more; their limits are only constrained by their own imagination to further the decentralization of the system. All content is always readily-available on the blockchain and retains its original integrity. (p.3)
Did you read it? Ladies and gentlemen, in that paragraph is the essence of Hive and its importance for the development of societies. Today, the most avant-garde studies in Communication contemplate the model of Communication for Development (C4D) in which empowering individuals with the tools to tell and reflect their reality is key.
By participating in the processes of communication production, we are on the surest path to development. And if you don't believe in Hive's potential, just mention the events that took place on this platform that mobilized solidarity aid for the victims of cyclone Ian, which recently devastated Cuban lands.

For these reasons, I believe that Hive can be a tool for empowering communities. Anyone with a cell phone and Internet access can create an account on this platform and through the #ecency mobile app become a blogger and join the networks of communities that swarm on this blockchain to help each other and grow together.
#HiveCuba is that of us, Cubans; and although it is relatively young, it shows strengths that can be leveraged to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) desired by all.
In this community there are people from all over Cuba reporting their realities or overflowing creativity, so why not spread this space with everyone?
That would be the task I leave you, dear reader 馃槀: Share the knowledge and opportunities provided by #Hive with all your friends, acquaintances and family, for sure you will help them and we all help each other growing as a community.
