Amigos de @hivecuba, he visto esta fotografía del interior del inmueble cito en calle De Los Pobres Nro. 95, en Camaguey, Cuba y he querido compartirles mis añoranzas.
Primero porque la imagen muestra un patrimonio arquitectónico que se pierde entre la bruma de una economía colapsada y la desidia que como venda no permite ver lo importante y prioritario. Y lo segundo porque en esta casa nació en 1882 el gran músico cubano Luis Casa Romero.
Seguramente cuando Luis y Adelina, sus padres, vieron nacer a su hijo supieron lo especial que sería, desde niño tocó el acordeón. Uno de los compositores cubanos más fecundos, flautista, director de orquesta y bandas militares.
Todo una rica trayectoria hablan de un compositor presente en acontecimientos fundacionales como el de la radio en 1922. Este autor se ganó el corazón de parte de la generación nacida en los 60 y 70 del siglo XX, aunque no recuerden su nombre si recordaran cuando ibamos de Escuela al Campo o al huerto escolar y mientras hacíamos el trabajo cantábamos El mambí
Allá en el año noventa y cinco,
Y por las selvas del Mayarí,
Una mañana dejé el bohío,
Y a la manigua salió un mambí.
Una cubana que era mi encanto,
A quien la noche llorando vio,
Y al otro día con su caballo
Buscó mis huellas y me siguió.
Aquella niña de faz trigueña
Y ojos más negros que la maldad,
Unió sus fuerzas a mi fiereza,
Y dio su vida a la libertad.
Un día triste cayó a mi lado;
Su hermoso pecho sangrando vi,
Y desde entonces fue ardiente,
Cuba adorada mi amor por ti.
Y como no nos iba a encantar si encantó a Santiago Feliú y Frank Fernández.
Esta es una de las canciones que más me gustaba escuchar desde niña, quizás por mi alma bravía o por el poder de las notas musicales de que se valió Luis Casas Romero a la hora de crearla.
Pero todo su obra es así vibrante, La criolla, Si llegara a besarte y otras 100 piezas que componen el cancionero cubano reconocido en el mundo.
La fotografía de Adonis Acosta vuelve a darme motivos, en esas ruinosas paredes creo están las primeras melodías del compositor cubano. Allí aún deben habitar los sueños del naciente músico y su familia amantísima.
Igual muchas otras casas que acunaron grandes artistas, como El Cucalambé, en Las Tunas, la de Félix Pita Rodríguez, en Bejucal, solo guardan trozos de su parte material y todo un universo de vibras porque allí donde se nace, se regresa.
Quiero ofrecerles una composición icónica, Si llegara besarte, pueden encontrar innumerables interpretaciones, pero esta es signigicativa porque es parte de la banda sonora del filme cubano La bella del Alambra. Interpretada por la actris Beatriz Valdés, es parte de los sutiles encantos de la cancionística y de la mujer cubana.

Friends of @hivecuba, I saw this photograph of the interior of the aforementioned building located at 95 De Los Pobres Street in Camaguey, Cuba, and I wanted to share my memories with you.
First, because the image shows an architectural heritage lost in the fog of a collapsed economy and the apathy that blinds us to what's important and important. And second, because the great Cuban musician Luis Casa Romero was born in this house in 1882.
Surely when Luis and Adelina, his parents, saw their son's birth, they knew how special he would be. He played the accordion from childhood. One of Cuba's most prolific composers, he also played flutists and conducted orchestras and military bands.
A rich career speaks of a composer who was present at founding events such as the radio in 1922. This author won the hearts of part of the generation born in the 60s and 70s of the 20th century, although they do not remember his name, they would remember when we went from School to the Field or to the school garden and while we did the work we sang songs like this one: El mambí

And how could we not be enchanted if she enchanted Santiago Feliú and Frank Fernández.
This is one of the songs I loved listening to most since I was a child, perhaps because of my fierce soul or the power of the musical notes Luis Casas Romero used when creating it. But all of his work is just as vibrant: La Criolla, if I were to kiss you, and the 100 other pieces that make up the world-renowned Cuban songbook.
Adonis Acosta's photograph gives me reason to remember once again. I believe the Cuban composer's first melodies are on those dilapidated walls. The dreams of the budding musician and his loving family must still reside there.
Likewise, many other houses that cradled great artists, such as El Cucalambé in Las Tunas, and that of Félix Pita Rodríguez in Bejucal, retain only fragments of their material presence and a whole universe of vibes, because where you are born, you return.
I want to offer you an iconic composition, If I Could Kiss You. You can find countless interpretations, but this one is significant because it's part of the soundtrack of the Cuban film La bella del Alambra. Performed by actress Beatriz Valdés, it's part of the subtle charms of Cuban songwriting and women.
