Greetings friends of Fascinating Insects,
This is my first post in this community. I'm glad I joined as I love photographing insects, discovering new species and taking lots of macro shots.
I was in my living room and from afar I saw something that was hanging in one of the coquette flowers that I have grown in my garden. I thought it was part of the flower that was starting to wilt, but as I got closer, I realized that it was a green bug. I don't like these insects because they give off an unpleasant smell. However, I found it interesting to take some macro pictures.
I took the shots at different angles and with this I managed to visualize each of its parts in detail. Its shell appeared to be hard, porous, part green and part brown. I didn't like staying close to him at all, because of the smell he can give off, although he only does it when they feel threatened.
Its scientific name is Nezara viridula. I had never seen a two-colored bedbug, I always saw them brown, the most common, they don't bite, but they are very stinky. Unlike those, the green ones, in addition to the smell, damage crops, make them sick and can sting humans, leaving the skin very injured with itching. The green bugs pierce the stems and absorb the sap, their favorites are tomato and fruit plants, although they can walk through some ornamental species, as I was able to confirm here.
The best thing is to eliminate them, never kill them because they would kill us with that smell. After taking the pictures, I asked my brother to get rid of the little insect, he carefully placed it in a bag and carried it far away. It is best to do it with a vacuum cleaner to avoid handling them, but I do not have that appliance.
