Here's a big surprise I found on my balcony today.
I had no idea a black swallowtail setup a crysalis on my balcony. Maybe it was feasting on my tomato plants last year.
It picked an old tomato cage to hang the crysalis on. Thankfully my fiance noticed it before its wings finished drying.
Later on in downtown Chicago I noticed a monarch crysalis hanging off the flower planters.
Some big argiope spiders are also setting up shop near the planters.
The wind is constantly blowing here in the windy city sending plenty of flies into their webs.
