Caterpillar or larvae, is one of the animal species categorized into the Ordo Lapidoptera, it is very well known by every insect lover who is often seen in every wild plant in a process that is complete metamorphosis
Previously, I would like to say that currently there are a lot of larvae (ulat kepompong) that dominate one of the cotton plants that grow next to the fence at SDN 8 Banda Sakti Lhokseumawe-Aceh, one of the corners of the fence to the north. One unit of cotton crop grows, without anyone planting it, or without intervention from the school or the surrounding community.
Until today, Wednesday 17 November 2021, the cocoon caterpillar still dominates some of the cotton leaves, if it is calculated to have a population of almost 60%, this figure is a situation that makes people interested and pay close attention, especially school students who often approach them. So that the situation is heard by some people. Some people or ordinary citizens living in the area expect the wild plants to be exterminated, arguing they are afraid and amused by the presence of the cocooned caterpillars in such a large capacity.
The common people are not wrong, they think that the cocoon caterpillar is a very dangerous caterpillar species, they equate the cocoon caterpillar itself is almost the same as caterpillars that can cause itching and others. So they argue to eradicate a wild cotton plant that grows to a size of approximately 1 meter from the ground.
Arguments that come from ordinary people, make the school parties intervene in the sense of helping to clarify a situation. The school also explained that the caterpillar was not from the caterpillar species that some ordinary people fear, but the springy creature is the forerunner of a butterfly, which is seen as the second stage of a process in the butterfly incident.

It turns out that ordinary people who are in the school environment, are not able to understand the caterpillar species, when they see their conversation in an argument that they conclude, it can be said to be wrong in concluding. It seemed to me very natural for their enthusiasm, because they weren't entomologists in handling it, so it was natural for them to think that way. So our it's job as people who understand a little understanding of the insect world to make it clear so that we don't make a wrong decision.
In fact, if we are wise to understand it, it turns out that their presence is a good thing for our lives too, why? With so many butterfly larvae present, many cocoons will be born and then become a butterfly that continues to be useful for every flower. When the butterfly always sucks the nectar of flowers found in every ornamental plant or even fruit plants (sometimes) it becomes a useful unit of our life too.
The presence of butterflies on each flower is a very lucky thing because they participate in developing each flower, and in the end this nature becomes green, when the earth becomes green land of course every disaster that often occurs can be resolved by itself. There is no global heat and others because the earth feels beautiful and not arid.
If someone says in the process of becoming a caterpillar butterfly they will eat every leaf, this is not a problem why? Because butterflies often lay their eggs on the leaves of wild plants, while spreading pollen to all corners of plants that have flowers, including flowers found on fruit plants.
In addition, the amount it consumes (when it becomes a butterfly caterpillar) is less than it gives to other plants. If calculated, there is more profit with loss. Therefore, the school considered it based on the residents' proposal to eradicate cotton plants which were dominated by butterfly caterpillars, because the presence of butterfly caterpillars would later benefit other plants, and also the earth.
Finally, the locals understand explanations and also they already know the caterpillars of butterflies with other caterpillar species that can harm every environment which means thorny caterpillars that can make people impact something that is not good, and also on some other plants.
Today's story, becomes a reference for the importance of science about insects, because some insects are able to make or change this environment to be beautiful, apart from things that we don't want like today's problem, namely the influence of global warnings and some natural conditions that are not both as a result of the lack of reforestation of the earth.
