I Almost Gave Up on Football... But I Didn't.
Let me share my story, maybe it inspires you too.

Growing up, I used to play barefoot football with the boys in my community. No boots, just pure passion. One day, a stranger gifted me my first pair of boots, he had seen me train every day, and believed I was good. That moment lit a fire in me.
After college, I left my home state and moved to the capital of Nigeria to live with my uncle. I worked hard on my game, trying to improve while also hustling to feed myself. But life wasn’t playing fair. Things weren’t working. So I got a job as a cleaner to support myself and yes, I kept training, even if not as consistently.
Then came a breakthrough.
I visited a priest and poured out my heart. He connected me with a woman who later introduced me to an academy run by Turkish managers. Dream come true, right? Yes… but also no.
Here's where it gets interesting.
Before the academy, I had met a coach who loved my playing style and promised to take me far. Guess what? That same coach turned out to be the head coach of the academy. And the woman who helped me? She was part of the academy too.
So both of them had been telling the academy about a talented young midfielder they were bringing in. They didn't know i was the one there were talking about.
When I arrived, the coach was shocked, and from there, things got confusing. At training, I was constantly talked down, made to feel small. I started doubting myself, I cried, I left, And I never went back.
I thought it was over for me.
But God wasn’t done.
I returned to school, wrote my JAMB, and entered university. On my first day back on the pitch, I was randomly put in as a goal keeper, 😅 I was literally doing my assignment and got scored twice. They moved me to left-back... and I delivered.
Once a baller, always a baller.
Before long, the school team came knocking. I got back on my feet stronger, sharper, more focused. Since then, I’ve achieved a few things:
🏆🥇 Varsity Cup Champion a tournament featuring several Nigerian universities.
🥈 Runner-Up Medalist local school tournaments.
I'm now in my second year, balancing academics and football, searching for purpose, chasing this dream harder than ever. All by the grace of God.

If you feel like it's over for you, think again.
It’s not over until it’s done.
And if you’re reading this and feel moved, you can support me with a pair of boots, or even share this story. Every step forward counts.
All University Games (NUGA) I’m coming.
Much love to everyone who believed. 🙏
