So after falling off a few times in the past, I'm back in the fitness horse again. Back in Kaduna, I stopped working out because running became boring and it started to feel redundant.
Now in Bayelsa for the holiday season, I'm trying to push myself to do a bit more than I use to. This means that I'm going to experience even more pain than I'm used to.
Last night was the worse in a long time, as I found myself in so much pain that I couldn't sleep. I was staring into blank space in the night and to make matters worst, my phone battery died.
The pain was mostly in my shoulder and groin region. I did some bench presses with 60KG weights and it took it's toll on me.
I carried the weight properly and paid attention to my form and all that. I'm just feeling the strain of pushing my arms to new limit after a long layoff from working out. I decided not to take pain killers because I want the adjustment process to be totally natural.
I also did five sets of curls, five sets of squats and a few other five sets of things while in the gym. Prior to all the weight carrying, I did two laps around the stadium. I think I'll increase it to three laps today.
My body's still in pain but it is not as bad as last night. I'm adjusting to it and will have to keep going, despite the pain until the pain stops. I estimate that it will take roughly two weeks to get over the discomfort.
