You see someone is aggressive and starts punching, are you going to wait for the next punch after the first punch? The attacker will throw a punch and then it is over. Well, things might not turn out like this.
The attacker might think of doing a punch and knock you out. If he misses in the first attempt, he will stop there. He will keep throwing punches. When someone continues punching, one punch comes after another very quickly.
If you block the first punch, the second punch is about to hit or if you even parry and defend yourself against the second punch, the third punch is going to hit you. Now how long are you going to block punches? Eventually, you will get hit.
When you see someone is about to throw a punch, block that and strike him immediately. You can do a palm strike or punch as a counter-attack. After getting hit once, the attacker can punch you again, but he gets a clear message that you are not vulnerable and he cannot attack you easily.
As a response against punches, the sooner you can counter-attack the better. Moving back can also work but you should go for the counter-attack. You can kick the attacker if you are in a kicking rage. You can prevent the attacker from getting in the punching range.
You have to observe the attacker and set a strategy based on that. One strategy might not work for everyone. You notice that the attacker is very good at punching, so if you are able to prevent him from getting in a punching rage and fight, that will be great.
Whatever you do, you need to do that fast. When you are confused and cannot decide what to do, that's a vulnerable moment. You are not focused for the time being. You cannot make your move to defend and fight properly. And the attacker can take advantage of it.
Even if you decide not to hit the attacker, you can find a way to get out of there fast. But staying there waiting for the next punch and being confused will not help you protect yourself. So what do you think?
