Pero algo que hay que destacar en todo esto es que Pérez no juega en Venezuela desde la campaña 2013-2014 un año después de ganar el premio Novato del Año de la temporada 2012-2013 y sumar su primer año como figura en las Grandes Ligas y se convirtió en noticia el pasado 9 de marzo luego de ser enviado por la gerencia de los Tiburones de La Guaira, equipo al que pertenece en la LVBP en un ruidoso cambio múltiple al conjunto de Águilas del Zulia. Las intenciones y deseos de Salvador son poder jugar con las Águilas fines de la ronda regular del Beisbol venezolano en la temporada 2022-2023 y formar equipo con otros grandeligas del Zulia además de poder participar en el playoff de la LVBP nunca ha jugado en un playoff en Venezuela, mas sin embargo y mas allá de eso manifestó sentirse súper alegre por el cambio de equipo ya que podrá jugar en la tierra del sol amada, mientras Pérez debe aún solicitar y esperar que Dayton Moore presidente del conjunto de los Reales le de el permiso para jugar en Venezuela.

En Venezuela la noticia de que Salvador pueda volver a jugar en nuestra liga y ahora con la camiseta de Águilas ha ocasionado opiniones encontradas; la gente de La Guaira específicamente los fanáticos están molestos alegando ‘qué nunca jugó aquí y ahora sí mucha gente desconoce las razones por las que el receptor decidió no volver con La Guaira pero el mismo ha dicho que en algún momento lo dirá por otro lado la fanaticada de las Águilas está feliz esperando que poder verlo en acción este año y no solo los fanáticos sino otros peloteros han dicho que si el juega pues ellos también como Freddy Galvis, Rougner Odor, Carlos González, José Pírela entre otros.
