My first time going to the mechanic
Greetings friends of Hive, today is my first time posting in this community of Hive Motors, I have been encouraged to post because I want to tell you how was my first time going to the mechanic. It happens that recently thanks to Hive my wife and I have bought our first vehicle, a goal that we set some time ago, we have achieved it thanks to Hive, now if you want to know the details, I invite you to read the post that my wife (@zullyscott) made click here to read it if you wish.
It turns out that as you could see, the car we bought is used, it's a '96 Ford Festiva, and when we bought it we knew that the first thing to do is to start investing in the car, and the first thing that came up was to check the brakes because on Sunday when we went out to visit some relatives I noticed that the brakes were very long, and that worried me. So yesterday I took the car to the mechanic in the area where I live (the garage is only 150 meters from home) to have it checked.
The first thing he checked was the brake pump, and he noticed that it had a wear and that the best thing to do was to replace it with a new one, or a used one in good condition, but in the east of the city where I live we can't find the brake pump. I wrote to a dear friend in the community, I speak nothing more and nothing less than @chalbed and who has knowledge in the area and advised me that if I could not find the pump to change the tires, he told me that they sold a kit of tires to replace them in the pump and that in this way I would be able to solve temporarily, while I found the pump.
So the car spent the night in the workshop, and in the morning the mechanic went to get the new tires, he told me that this solution is temporary, proceeded to install them and put the new brake hose, now I have to look around the area of my city where spare parts stores abound and ask for the brake pump of my car.
Being a used car, it is not in optimal conditions, my wife and I have made a list of things to repair, right now the first thing is the brake pump is the most urgent, then let's go with this list:
- 2 New tires
- Engine wash and maintenance
- Carburetor maintenance
- Maintenance of the gearbox
- Maintenance of the front axle
- Air conditioning installation**
So soon I will be sharing with you here our progress, I must confess that I know nothing about mechanics, so I will begin to consume more content from this community and I'm thinking of looking for a place to do a course of mechanics and learn, so I can do myself small repairs that the vehicle needs to be done.

Mi primera vez yendo al mecánico
Saludos amigos de Hive, hoy es mi primera vez publicando en esta comunidad de Hive Motors, me he animado a postear ya que les deseo contar como ha sido mi primera vez yendo al mecánico. Sucede que recientemente gracias a Hive mi esposa y yo hemos comprado nuestro primer vehículo, una meta que nos propusimos hace un tiempo la hemos concretado gracias a Hive, ahora bien, si desean conocer los detalles, les invito a ojear el post que realizó mi esposa (@zullyscott) pincha aquí para leerlo si lo deseas.
Resulta que como pudieron ver, el auto que hemos comprado es usado, es un Ford Festiva del año 96, y cuando lo compramos sabíamos que lo primero que hay que hacer es ir invirtiendo en el auto, y lo primero que ha surgido ha sido chequear los frenos ya que el día domingo cuando salimos a visitar a unos familiares noté que los frenos estaban muy largos, y eso me preocupó. Así que ayer le llevé el carro al mecánico de la zona donde vivo (el taller está a solo 150 metros de casa) para que lo revisara.
Lo primero que revisó fue la bomba de freno, y notó que tenía un desgaste y que lo mejor era reemplazarla por una nueva, o en su defecto por una usada en buenas condiciones, pero por el este de la ciudad en donde vivo no encontramos la bomba de freno. Le escribí a un estimado amigo dentro de la comunidad, les hablo nada más y nada menos que @chalbed y que tiene conocimientos en el área y me aconsejó, que si no encontraba la bomba que le cambiara las gomas, me comentó que vendían un kit de gomas para reemplazarlas en la bomba y que de ese modo iba a poder solucionar de manera temporal, mientras encontraba la bomba.
Así qué el auto pasó la noche en el taller, y por la mañana el mecánico fue a conseguir las gomas nuevas, me comentó que esta solución es temporal, procedió a su instalación y a colocarle la nueva liga de freno, ahora debo buscar por la zona de mi ciudad donde abundan las tiendas de repuesto y preguntar por la bomba de freno de mi auto.
Al ser un carro usado, no está en sus optimas condiciones, mi esposa y yo hemos hecho una lista de cosas a reparar, ahora mismo lo primero es la bomba de freno es lo más urgente, luego vamos con esta lista:
- 2 Cauchos nuevos
- Lavado de motor y su mantenimiento
- Mantenimiento del carburador
- Mantenimiento de la caja
- Mantenimiento del tren delantero
- Instalación del Aire acondicionado
Así que próximamente estaré compartiendo con ustedes por acá nuestros avances, debo confesar que no sé nada de mecánica, así que comenzaré a consumir más contenido de esta comunidad y estoy pensando en buscar un lugar para hacer un curso de mecanica y aprender, así poder hacer yo mismo pequeños arreglos que vaya necesitando el vehículo.
