In today's times, technology is a very important aspect of human life. Through it, we enjoy comfort and convenience in moments of daily life. Household appliances that lighten our burdens and comfort us in our homes are part of that blessed technology that we love so much and with which it is nice to have, to cope with our day-to-day.
Among those teams and with the recent heat waves that live in my country, Venezuela, air conditioning is something very valued by me. I always try to do at least one preventive maintenance in the year to ensure its proper functioning over time.
Many know my LG air conditioner, as I have reviewed some of the maintenance that has been made throughout its operation. Recently and I reviewed it here, was made this year's maintenance, being well operational. However, it was pending a detail with the electronic card of the same, which was subsequently reviewed and diagnosed with failures in the relay of the same.
En tiempos actuales, la tecnología es un aspecto muy importante en la vida del ser humano. A través de ella, disfrutamos del confort y la comodidad en momentos de la vida diaria. Equipos electrodomésticos que nos aligeran las cargas y nos confortan en nuestros hogares, son parte de esa bendita tecnología que tanto amamos y con la que es agradable contar, para sobrellevar nuestro día a día.
Entre esos equipos y con las olas de calor recientes que se viven en mi país, Venezuela, el aire acondicionado es algo muy valorado por mí. De hecho, siempre procuro hacerle al menos un mantenimiento preventivo en el año para garantizar su buen funcionamiento a lo largo del tiempo.
Muchos conocen mi aire acondicionado LG, pues he reseñado algunos de los mantenimientos que se le han realizado a lo largo de su funcionamiento. Recientemente y lo reseñé por aquí, se le hizo el mantenimiento de este año, quedando bien operativo. Sin embargo, quedó pendiente un detalle con la tarjeta electrónica del mismo, el cual fue revisado posteriormente y diagnosticado con fallas en el Relé de la misma.
The electronic card or logic card, is a component of the air indoor console, which commands the actions on and off the compressor during operation. When the room reaches the right temperature, the card turns the compressor off, in conjunction with other components that support this functionality.
I am not technical or an expert in the area, but I am relaying to you what I was able to understand throughout the process of fixing what was wrong. The compressor would not turn off and remained perennially on (which, of course, is not normal) and that's when I told Jose (the technician), to fix this malfunction.
At first, I thought that the card should be replaced by a new one but, when Jose checked, what had been damaged was the Relay of the same, which was the reason why the normal shutdown of the compressor did not happen in due time.
La tarjeta electrónica o tarjeta lógica, es un componente de la consola interior del aire, la cual, comanda las acciones de encendido y apagado del compresor durante su funcionamiento. Cuando la habitación alcanza la temperatura adecuada, la tarjeta hace que el compresor apague, en conjunto con otros componentes que apoyan esta funcionalidad.
No soy técnica ni experta en el área, pero les transmito lo que pude entender a lo largo del proceso de arreglo de lo que estaba mal. El compresor no apagaba y quedaba perennemente encendido (lo cual, por supuesto, no es lo normal) y fue cuando le dije a José (el técnico), para arreglar este desperfecto.
En principio pensaba que se debería reemplazar la tarjeta por una nueva pero, cuando José revisó, lo que se había dañado era el Relé de la misma, motivo por el cual, no sucedía el apagado normal del compresor en el debido tiempo.
The technician proceeded to disassemble the card, making a complete revision (very complex and meticulous work by the way), finding the relay that was damaged and proceeding to clean it, as well as to replace the part in question. We had to look for the part beforehand and buy a new one. Jose took care of it and the cost of it, in a specialized store in the area, was 6$.
The board and its components were cleaned (maintenance) and the relay was replaced with a new one, a procedure that was not so long but meticulous because of the small circuits located on the board. After replacing the relay, the technician proceeded to reassemble the card in the console and test the equipment, which corrected the fault and worked in perfect condition on and off the compressor on time.
The cost of the part that was replaced (relay) was $6.00 and the technician's labor $30.00, which seemed fair to me because the work, despite looking very short and simple, is quite meticulous as far as the miniature circuitry on the board is concerned.
El técnico procedió a desmontar la tarjeta, haciéndole revisión completa (muy complejo y minucioso el trabajo por cierto), encontrando el relé que estaba dañado y procediendo tanto a la limpieza de la misma, como al reemplazo de la pieza en cuestión. Tuvimos que, con anterioridad, buscar la pieza y comprarla nueva. José se encargó y el costo de la misma, en una tienda especializada de la zona, fue de 6 $.
Se limpió la tarjeta y sus componentes (un mantenimiento) y se reemplazó el relé por uno nuevo, procedimiento que no fue tan largo pero si meticuloso por lo pequeño de los circuitos ubicados en dicha tarjeta. Luego de reemplazado el relé, el técnico procedió a montar nuevamente la tarjeta en la consola y probar el equipo, el cual corrigió la falla y funcionó en perfecta condición de encendido y apagado del compresor a su tiempo.
El costo de la pieza que se sustituyó (relé) fue de 6 $ y la mano de obra del técnico 30 $, lo cual me pareció justo pues el trabajo a pesar de verse muy corto y sencillo, es bastante meticuloso en lo que se refiere a lo miniatura de los circuitos en la tarjeta.
The air conditioner is working properly and more than ever, in these times of extreme heat, it is a great blessing to be able to count on it. Having such professional and honest workmanship, as my technician, is also a great advantage and is appreciated.
My experience was narrated from my perspective as a user, and from the information provided by the technician, as well as what I saw in the process. Nothing versed or expert in the area from a professional standpoint.

El aire acondicionado se encuentra funcionando correctamente y más que nunca, en estos tiempos de calor extremo, es una gran bendición poder contar con él. Contar con la mano de obra tan profesional y honesta, como mi técnico, también es una gran ventaja y se agradece.
