Dear friends, what a pleasure to greet you. This week I have been learning more about mechanics and I wanted to share with all of you the works that I have seen done and gradually I will show them to my friends who love mechanics.
En esta oportunidad pude aprender de mi padre la sustitución de Bendix de arranque para motor Ford o jeep, este motor de arranque es de suma importancia. Para empezar se realizó dicha sustitución debido a que el auto comenzó a presentar fallas (en ocasiones no encendía), ya que el bendix deslizaba en la cremallera también llamada (corona dentada) ubicada en el motor lo que impide el encendido del mismo. Teniendo claro que el arranque o motor de encendido es lo que permite la primera fuerza o impulso que debe recibir el motor para su funcionamiento.
In this opportunity I was able to learn from my father the replacement of the starter Bendix for Ford or jeep engine, this starter motor is of utmost importance. To begin with, this substitution was made because the car began to present failures (sometimes it did not start), since the bendix was slipping on the rack also called (ring gear) located in the engine, which prevents the ignition of the engine. Having clear that the starter or ignition motor is what allows the first force or impulse that the engine must receive for its operation.
Luego de desmontar el arranque del vehículo se procedió a desarmarlo. Por lo general la mayoría de los arranques tienen dos tornillos. Y en este modelo tiene una faja que se ajusta con un tornillo.
After disassembling the starter, we proceeded to disassemble it. Usually most of the starters have two screws. And in this model it has a girdle that is adjusted with a screw.

También se extraen los carbones utilizando un gancho o pinza para levantar de a uno los impulsores de metal que sostienen los carbones.
The coals are also removed by using a hook or tongs to lift one by one the metal impellers that hold the coals.

Luego se retira la tapa delantera. el inducido tiene un retén de seguridad que se debe quitar para poder sacar el bendix. Ya en mano se podrá ver con más detalles las condiciones del bendix ya sea por dientes partidos o desgastados.
Then the front cover is removed. The armature has a safety catch that must be removed in order to remove the bendix. Once in hand, the condition of the bendix can be seen in more detail, either by broken or worn teeth.

Ya sustituido el Bendix se vuelve armar el arranque teniendo en cuenta el procedimiento de desarme paso a paso, para luego proceder a probar el trabajo realizado y asegurarse antes de instalarlo en el auto su buen funcionamiento. (Una prueba adicional es colocar un trozo de palo o madera- pero se debe sujetar con fuerza para evitar que rebote y golpee a quienes esten sujetando el arranque o el cable de corriente- para comprobar la fuerza del mismo).
Once the Bendix has been replaced, the starter is reassembled following the step by step disassembly procedure, and then proceed to test the work done and make sure before installing it in the car that it works properly. (An additional test is to place a piece of stick or wood - but it must be held tightly to prevent it from bouncing and hitting those who are holding the starter or the power cable - to check the strength of the starter).
