It's the start of another week again! This is now the 18th consecutive week writing in my Diary (of sorts) detailing my Splinterlands Journey ever since I started this game. Of course, this also marks my 18th weekly giveaway! 🎉🥳🎊
After experiencing the previous week's End of Season madness, this week seems tame in comparison. As expected, I did finish the season in Gold 2 League, but my rewards chests were nothing to shout about.
As always, a tame week doesn't mean nothing is going on in though. Far from it in fact. Let me go through some interesting news happening in the World of Splinterlands.
First off, was news of BALTHAZAR (a Meta Guild) and Side Door Ventures (a VC firm) partnering together to invest $1 million into opening 250,000 Chaos Legion packs to create 3000 scholar accounts. This is HUGE NEWS which can only serve to bring in even more players and buzz about Splinterlands from the wider world out there. 😱🤯💸
Of more interest to me however, was watching @bulldog1205 and NicoThePico attempting to open all $1 million the packs live on stream. Obviously it wasn't possible to actually get through all 250,000 packs in the 2 hours, but it was a fun watch nonetheless. I always enjoy watching mass opening of packs for some reason 😜. Perhaps it helps to scratch my own itch to open packs which I do not possess? 🤔🤔🤔
The next big thing of note to happen was that the NEXT LEGENDARY AIRDROP CARD has just been released today! Yup! We've finally hit the magical "8 Million Packs Sold" mark!
The Carnage Titan with its incredible stats, paired with Reach and Double Strike abilities. This will surely be a beast of a card in all Dragon decks moving forward. ❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍
Would I be lucky to snag myself 1 with my meagre 11 packs purchased though? 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀
Unfortunately, the answer was a resounding NO. 😭😭😭 Better luck next time I guess? My odds of scoring a lucky drop was infinitesimally low anyway, with a 1 in 525 chance per pack 🤣.
And now, for an update on the number of Chaos Legion packs sold thus far. About 140k sold since last week. Still not too bad. That is still quite an amazing sales figure! Most importantly, that was the figure needed to hit the 8 million pack threshold for the Carnage Titan airdrop.
Here's the current count (as of the moment I'm writing this post) of the number of packs sold, and we're back to another million packs away from the 9 million mark! 😄 Which also means everyone has a chance to get in now and grab more packs for the remaining airdrops! 😜
My fingers are crossed! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 Hopefully I'll get some amazing luck for the next round! 🍀🍀🍀
