Levelling up and ranking up the champions in Raid: Shadow Legends can be tedious and time-consuming work. It's a pyramid scheme of sorts because you need several champions at one level to uprank one champion to the next level.
It's a simple and ingenuine system actually. If you wish to get a champion to level 6, Six Stars is the most that you can get, you need this champion at 5x50 (five stars and level 50) and four champions at any 5 stars level, preferably 5x1.
By upranking one champion, you sacrifice the other five. They vanish in Raid nirvana.
The same goes for lesser levels. One 4x40 champion with sacrificed four 4x1 champions gives you a 5x1. And all the way down to levels 3, 2, ... One shortcut is to use chickens instead of champions. YOu can get these with tournaments and events, you can buy them, ...
You can imagine that it takes a lot of upranking and merging to get out one at 6x1.
My first 6x1 champion, after 104 days of playing the game, will be Aleksandr the Sharpshooter. He is my most powerful champion and the honour to get the sixth star will be his.
Done!
The next steps are to level him up to 6*60, fully ascend him (six purple stars) and see how powerful he can be.
While I was at it his Spraydown skill got upgraded too.
