I finally hit the Level 75 mark and proceeded to get the band together. It turns out I will need to do a bit more level chasing to start missions in the new "County Tour" sector so that just means grinding skill missions again for days and days.
I should probably look at some of those fancy cards that do the missions for you and cool down, but I guess it won't be worth the cost. So fortunately I have all the time in the world and it does benefit me that I am not someone that really cares about achievements. It will get there when it gets there.
The band though is a great achievement, their first album will be a remake of Boney 'Em because Boney sucks. Hence the band needed the choir. Every member also has a Brand Avocado Guitar for smashing. Avocado tastes like and smells like grass and no one is grazing at will. The only conclusion is mass hypnosis. Why else would everyone seem to willingly eat Cow puke?
I did not notice any additions to how much I get per mission so I am thinking the band itself does not matter to any progress which I think can be good to know because sometimes you just need a one-man band.
Balancing the burn
I have been renting cards more often for Splinterlands on my Bronze and Gold account. Bronze is definitely the most worthwhile and it does force you to keep a budget when trying to rent for Gold.
As with many things, I just jumped in and burned through a ton of DEC renting for Gold only to have nothing of worth to show for it.
Except for the joy of learning. I saw on the Splinterlands discord someone recommended a budget should be half the average of your expected chest returns.
That makes sense.
My ECR is quite high and at the time of the screenshot I just finished about 20 Games, my new effort in wake of feeling a bit of burnout is to determine a achievable balance.
That is how many chests can I get without having to think about anything really and how quickly. Since the focus rounds are convenient in that you can spam without abandon that does help but would not matter regardless as even if I tried to play the optimal Splinter I know what I will play before looking at the opposite team.
So fortunately I can get about 10 chests for 30min of just clicking buttons and only playing the ruleset. It takes a a bit more "calm" for me to look at what the other person might play. If I am not in that state then what they might play just becomes irritating when they do not play that.
Other than now just chilling and getting the 10 or more chests baseline I will focus more on budgeting my rentals which for the most part in Gold at least do ok just focusing on different summoners of the same Splinter.
On the note of Splinters, Death is by far the worst Gold Splinter and maybe this changes at the higher levels but I think even in Bronze the Death squad is pretty damn weak. Then again when I am just tanking the game I don't want to deal with ten million countermeasures.
