I am the Account Manager for the Rising Star Game Account of the Oneup-Cartel, so this post is about my weekly progress on playing the game! The Oneup-Cartel is a very active gaming community on the Hive blockchain. š

IĀ“m good. I am trying to take a few days off on this easter weekend. We were on a bicycle tour yesterday and it was awesome! The weather is great over here right now, so I think I will go outside into the sun for a few hours today again after I finished this post. š
Rising Star is a P2E game on the Hive blockchain where you start as a lowly busker and work your way up to stardom. You can either invest money in to to speed up your progress - by buying cardpacks or cards from the ingame market - or also start playing without any investing any money. ThatĀ“s what I really like about the game, that everyone has a chance to play and can make great progress. Not only the people who can invest money in it.
This game might not seem to be complicated at first glance, but it has alot of tactical elements to it, which - I can see that in the community - most people donĀ“t really have a clue about. But to maximize your earnings (and I think the ROI of the game is really good), you need to understand and play these tactics.
Seasonal Events
Today I want to explain a little bit about the seasonal events, which take place quite often during the year in Rising Star. Every event is basically following the same mechanics, so if you understand one, you will understand all of them.
Right now, the Easter event is live.
When an event starts, there is always a special mission which you can do.
You normally donĀ“t need many fans and no high level do be able to do this mission.
But what you need is always a special card (a "people" card). Without this card, you are not able to start the special mission.
This time, itĀ“s the "S34 Pascala".
This card can be found in packs or bought from the market - itĀ“s about 10,000 Starbits right now.
As soon as you have this card, you can do the special mission as often as you want, until the event ends - normally the events are lasting for about 4 weeks.
You know have a 10% chance to get one of the two special instrument cards.
The people card as well as the instrument cards can always be blended to an animated version of the card. That means, when you have 10 cards of one of these, you can blend them to 1 animate one.
The animated card still remains all the stats of the accumulated 10 normal cards. So for example:
S34 Pascala has 100 fans, 100 skill, 5 luck and 1 IM. The animated version of the card therefore has 1k fans, 1k skill, 50 luck and 10 IM. So that you donĀ“t lose any stats when blending your cards.
When you blend 10 cards, these 10 cards get burned. That means the market supply of the normal card gets reduced.
So these cards are not only for collecting (because they are limited in supply), but also give you stats which you need for your normal gameplay.
Is it worth taking the time to collect these cards with running the special mission?
I asked myself this question a few month ago and the stopped doing any special missions with my own account. But this all depends on where you are with the progress of your account right now, and where you wanna go to.
Each special mission takes 30 minutes to run, and you have a 10% chance to get one of the instrument cards. That means in average you need 300 minutes of missions to get one card. I then calculated how many starbits I could earn in 300 minutes of doing normal missions and how many starbits I have to pay on the market for one of these instrument cards. The cheapest one right now is about 6,100 Starbits. For me, itĀ“s absolutely not worth it making these missions, cause I can earn more than 6,100 Starbits in 300 minutes.
But that really all depends on how big your account already is and how much you earn, so you need to find out for yourself about this.
I think in general, itĀ“s always important in Rising Star to calculate and think about if special missions and certain stuff is helpful or a waste of time for your account, if you wanna maximize your earnings.
Coming back to the cartels account:

Highest Mission: Stage 2, Mission 3 (Shopping Mall)
I am stil stuck on the thirdp mission of the second stage. The next mission will be unlocked with level 40. That sucks a bit. To be honest, the best investment you can make is buying an xp boost card to speed up your leveling, because that means you will speed up your earnings. But unfortunately the boosts got VERY expensive during the last 4 month, because they are out of print and very limited.
Back in December, a 10xp boost cost about 25 Hive, now itĀ“s already around 90Hive! But the card is very valuable to speed up everything in this game. So if you have the money, you should consider buying one.
As soon as I have money left over, I will buy one for the cartelĀ“s account. But first my plan for the account is as follows:
I am currently collecting 30,000 Starbits for beeing able to do the Birthday Cake mission and get one of the cards.
After this, I will continue with collecting 1Million Starbits, so that I hopefully have these when I turn level 50.
And as soon as I get the card and can run the mission, I will save up my Starbits to be able to buy an xp boost next.
So therefore, I am not buying any packs right now, because it does not make much sense in my oppinion right now. All these other things I am saving on are much more important.
