Happy weekend, amazing people!
A huge moth landed on my bougainvillea plants as I was doing my laundry and yardwork. I had to zoom in a little to get the majority of the detail because it was a little high. It had been sitting on the leaves for hours, and it was as big as my palm. It must have been there from late afternoon to early evening. One like this hasn't been seen in a long time. My daughter was still a baby when the last one happened, many years ago. The living room of our house was visited by the same species. They call this moth a Giant Silk Moth. Mariposa is its Tagalog name here in the Philippines. A giant silk moth has large, velvety wings that are yellow, brown, black, and white in color. It is, in my opinion, the largest moth in the Philippines, and every single detail is stunning and enchanting. They are rarely seen, though compared to butterflies that you can see roaming around often.

I am putting this as my entry to @qurator's photo quest: Insects. As per my research, a moth belongs to the group of insects that includes all non-butterfly members of the order Lepidoptera.
