Yeah .. new week, new challenge. I was looking yesterday to find out the new theme, but It was not posted by the time I went to bed. Because we're all living in different times zones this is quite normal. Anyway ... Last week it was playing with food and I felt like a kid again. This week it's about sandcastles. Looks like I will feel like a kid again 😆 This brings memories back from childhood, but not really for me. In my home country I never saw the beach as a kid. I remember I was 15 years old when I first saw the sea. My parents took my around Europe during my childhood, but they were not really ocean people. So I saw a lot of mountains 😃
When I met my husband we went quite often to the beach. His summer holidays as a kid were always at the Belgian coast.
So here is my entry ... We were walking late afternoon at the beach and waiting for the sunset. This sandcastle was a left over. I guess the kid who made it had to go home. The tide was coming in so soon it would be destroyed. You can see the horizon isn't straight, but that's because I took that picture with a 8mm fisheye lens. At that time that was the lens on my camera so I had to deal with it.
I also have another picture of a sandcastle .. but to me it was not so good. I took it more than 10 years ago. In summer time they organise sand sculptures at the coast. It's amazing what artists can make out of sand. I really have no clue how to start with something like that. But to be honest, my heart goes more to the simple sandcastle made by a kid who probably had a great day.
