Back again Hivers. A few weeks ago I posted on making an IKEA Lack enclosure for my Ender 3 printer it has been fine but one thing that has one thing that has really been bugging me is scrabbling under the enclosure to find the switch on the power supply to switch it on each time. So that got fixed today.
It wasn't all quite plain sailing my original plan was just to remove the switch from the power supply and relocate it but when I looked closer the power socket and rocker switch were all one molding.
Also, I saw that there was an inline fuse so it was probably a good idea to keep that.
So a quick trip to our local motor factors for a switch and on with a backup plan. All the terminals were crimped and I have plenty of those along with some wire so it was a simple job to make up a set of jumper cables and replace the feed line to the switch with a switched line.
It all took about 10 minutes and a bit longer to print a carrier for the switch.
5 minutes to fit everything back together and a quick test to make sure the fuses don't blow or I burn the house down.
That's it Hivers must be time for a beer and watch the rugby as a reward for a job well done.
