Good afternoon fellow filmmakers!
I've posted versions of my tracking sheets here before, each time bringing something new to the table. This time around, we've got five different tracking spreadsheets to help you make your documentary or long form show.
In case you were wondering, I've used these sheets to help complete hundreds of television episodes and now two separate documentaries. They are battle tested, work on any browser and do not require any proprietary software. Everything exists on Google Sheets for easy copying and sharing amongst team members.
I hope that someone here finds these useful.
THE SHEETS ARE:
- Basic tracking
This sheet is the easiest sheet to manage. It has check box buttons for approval, drop down date menus, floating headers and is infinitely replicable.
- Basic tracking with Timecode
This sheet has everything the Basic Tracking Sheet has, plus the ability to accurately add timecode and change the time base. It also has cells to track the creation and progress of "Snap-Ins" which is very handy if you're making content that will air in Europe.
- Advanced Tracking
This sheet has everything the Basic w/ Timecode grid does, but also includes cells for tracking B-Roll and Recreations.
- Video Clip / B-Roll / Audio Clip Tracking
This tracking grid was very handy for gathering footage, organizing it and tracking their ingestion with post-production department.
- Show Open Tracking
Just in case your show open is complex enough to warrant tracking clips and progress.
And there you have it! Go forth and make your documentary or TV shows with precision and peace of mind.
