A new change in the MEME reward system will be implemented starting next week. This was proposed by @greywarden100 four days ago. Beginning the 18th week, the MEME rewards will be doubled as enumerated below:
1st Place - from 5,000 MEME to 10,000 MEME
2nd Place - from 2,500 MEME to 5,000 MEME
3rd Place - from 1,500 MEME to 3,000 MEME
Two consolation prizes—from 1,000 MEME to 2,000 MEME
@greywarden100 proposed the change to counteract the decreasing value of MEME rewards. 10,000 MEME right now is equivalent to 2.18 HIVE on the ask side.
I hope this change will encourage meme creators even more. Again, thanks to @greywarden100 for proposing this change. So far, he has distributed 327,804 MEME tokens for this community activity, including both the incentives for the participants and the oversight of this curation contest. As for @pepetoken, he distributed 1M liquid PEPE and another 95,000 PEPE waiting to be distributed later. In the case of the PAY token, 301,500 had already been distributed courtesy of @antisocialist. Thanks to all the sponsors for funding this weekly event.
