This quarry was one of the largest suppliers of natural stone in the UK and had three sites. One of the sites is in my village. It closed down years ago I believe. I've been wanting to look around it for ages but wasn't sure if there was any security on. As nobody is around at the moment, I took the opportunity to go and investigate.
There wasn't an awful lot to see. It's a shell of a place and the local yobbos have set fire to it a few times - one being recently.
I found a small office but hardly anything in it. Just a few invoice books.
I do like a good sign!
I also like makeshift signs that aren't spelt correctly. Makes it real somehow.
I wonder which member of staff celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary?
The graffiti wasn't as arty as some of what I've seen before but at least they made the effort. 😊
Unfortunately, someone else turned up so I left. I've a few more offices to explore so I will go back at some point.
