I first heard about peakd a few months ago, when @chillwithshanna shared her intro post on Facebook. But after reading her post, I just moved on with my life without minding it or the platform, again. At the back of my head, I was just aware that she has been earning through her blog, and I found that amusing.
Months passed by and I kept on looking for ways to have an extra income. For some reasons, Shanna's blogging platform suddenly crossed my mind. I wanted to check it out, but I couldn't remember the name of the site. Theeeen, while watching IG stories one night, she posted about her blogging experience again. Without second thoughts, I messaged her right away about it.
I honestly did not know anything about this platform. I just thought that it is just like any other blogging platforms I have tried before. I was expecting to just open up a website and register for an account. When Shanna told me that we should set a time to meet online and talk about it, I said yes, but part of me was already a bit hesitant. Especially when we finally met and she introduced me to peakd and hive! Haha.
I had second thoughts about it, not because I didn't trust the platform, but because I felt like it would probably be something "serious," and I wasn't sure if I was ready to commmit. (lol commitement problems hahaha jk)
Okay, wait. I feel like I sounded as if I am doing this just for the money. Well, that is part of my reasons for joining here, but the thing is, I actually have been keeping a number of online journals for a long time now. I love spilling my thoughts on pages and reminiscing moments of my life, and sometimes, it is nice to share them to others, especially to strangers. When I thought about it, publishing posts on peakd is actually the same thing as me, writing on my other online journals. The difference is that here, I get rewarded for my posts. How awesome is that?
Now, back to my story. Again, Shanna and I met online and she gave me a virtual tour of the website. She made kwento about her experience and a bit about how things work here. I listened and nodded, but honestly, a part of my mind was flying because everything was foreign to me. (Sorry, Shan! I tried my best to be 100% present, promise hahaha)
Then I was informed about Twitter, Discord, Cryptocurrency and Binance--- things I have no idea about. My mind was spinning. Haha Yup! I didn't even have a twitter account!! There were really a looooot to learn and try, but I made up my mind that I would push through it even though I barely understood a thing.
Another funny experience pa was making my account! For some reasons, the link that Shanna gave me wouldn't work, on both our ends. We tried different ways, pero ayaw parin! They even sent me an email invite and all, but nothing worked. We were ready na to call it a night and just try again the next day, when she messaged me again. @ybanezkim26 found a way! We went through the process again, and lo and behold, I am now a month into blogging here. Aaaaaaaa! Thank you so much for the help, Shanna and Kim!
I am really happy that I got introduced to the Hive community. Everyone is so welcoming and warm, that even though I am still a newbie here, people really go out of their way to talk to me. Huhu. I appreciate, you guys!
I also like that there are different communities here. It is nice to have a group of people you can share your passion with. No bias, but recently, I have been enjoying the company of @needleworkmonday. Partly because I am obssessed with crocheting now, and also because there are a lot of nice people inside the community. Haaaay. You are all awesome!
Until now, I am still confused with several things, and I am learning everyday. I am still in the process of being confident enough in dealing with Hive, HP or HBD. I haven't fully understood them yet, but various posts by fellow Hive peeps are really helpful. And I know that if the time comes when I'll need help, someone will surely be willing to lend a hand.
I am so excited to discover and learn more things about myself and other people here. ❤️
Stay sane and safe.
Let's spread happiness!
