Once an Iberian settlement, the Spanish coastal town of Xàbia/Jávea is perched on a hill above miles of rocky coastline. In terms of architecture, it has quite a uniformed look, as many of its buildings are made of the local Tosca sandstone. They add to the town's distinct character and charm.
I had a wonderful time in this lovely town, and in this post, I'll show you some buildings in its port district. I took these photos with my phone and camera on different days last month, some of which are of the same building, such as the delightful beach house. I'm fond of its eclectic style with an emphasis on organic elements and nature. Also, as a fan of warm tones, it's not difficult to see why I adore the lighting and colors in this coastal region.
You will see beautiful traditional architecture characterized by white stucco walls, soft arches, terracotta tiles and carved wooden doors. Besides, the seafront is lined with modern developments that frequently feature sleek lines, minimalistic designs, and extensive use of glass and steel. I like how most of these contemporary villas have combined modern designs with a nod to the traditional style, resulting in architectural harmony along the charming sea and hills.
