“Mini-Greenhouse Project Part 4"
Last weekend, I and my husband painted the inside walls for the mini-greenhouse because it was nice weather. The weather is very cool and rainy often in summer. Finally, we had nice weather so, we quickly painted the wall. As you can see, our shed was very old. I don't know who built it but it's a very handmade-looking construction style. That's why we decided to start this DIY-looking shabby chic, beach-style mini-greenhouse project in spring instead of making a brand new-looking shed.
My husband thinks if we paint it white inside, the sunshine will hit the wall and make it brighter inside. Yeah, it works. the inside was very dark before but now it's pretty bright. I didn't decorate inside yet. Gradually, I want to decorate inside. For example, I want to hang sun catcher hanging plants, and place cactus and big plants. I hope I can grow some vegetables or herbs until just before winter for this year. We're going to reform the roof, and wood deck in front of the mini-greenhouse someday in the future. Hopefully, we want to put some stones instead of putting a wood deck because underneath it's a very good spot for the squirrels and mice recently. Also, if we put stones, it looks like a Zen-looking beach style!
先週末はいい天気だったので、主人とミニ温室の内壁を塗りました。今年の夏はとても涼しく雨ばかりです。久しぶりのいい天気なので急いでペンキを塗りました。見ての通り、とても傷んでいて古い物置です。誰が作ったのかは分かりませんが、かなり手作り感満載の物置でした。これを立派な物置に立て替えるよりも、シャビーシックなビーチ風のミニ温室にDIY する方がいいという結論になり、春にこのプロジェクトがスタートしたわけです。
主人が、壁を白くしたら日差しが反射して中が明るくなるのではないかと言い、実際にやってみたところ、今までとても暗かった中が明るく感じます。 まだ中に物を置いていませんが、その内色々置きたいと考えています。サンキャッチャーや植物を吊るして、サボテンや大きめの植物を置きたいです。今年は冬ギリギリまで野菜やハーブをこの中で育てることができればいいなと思っています。それから、屋根を新しいのに変えて、ミニ温室前のウッドデッキをゆくゆく石畳に変えたいと考えています。今の状態ではリスやネズミの恰好のスポットになってしまっているからです。もし石に変えたら禅風ビーチスタイルになるのではないかと思います。
Used white paint to make a shabby chic-looking wall for the mini-greenhouse. The trees are growing outside and slightly covering the mini-greenhouse for summer.
白いペンキを塗ってシャビーシック風のミニ温室内壁にしました。外の木々が育ち、夏のミニ温室に日影を作っています。
Painted a big table too. The white wall and table reflect the sunshine in the afternoon and make the inside lighter.
大きなテーブルも白に塗りました。日差しが白い壁やテーブルに反射して中をさらに明るくします。
Super damaged wall was fixed, treated, and painted white.
ものすごく傷んでいた壁を補強し、補修し、白く塗りました。
Sunshine is on the plants and they look happy.
日差しが植物に注いで嬉しそうに見えます。
My dog is also curious about our mini-greenhouse. Or maybe he is checking for mice.
愛犬もミニ温室に興味津々です。ひょっとするとネズミをチェックしているのかも知れませんが。
