Whenever you think this country has reached its lowest point, we find ourselves in a situation that it is even lower than the lowest nadir. One interesting fact about it is that instead of people calling it as it is, they call it a game and we just move on with our lives.
I've grown a thick skin to information lately, particularly the one coming from news outlets because they're all mostly full of shit but when you see a story like this on Sahara reporters, you just have to sit up and say what the actual fuck!!!
In case you don't have time to go through the post in the previous paragraph, the summary is that Ibrahim Magu, the acting chairman of EFCC was arraigned recently by the Secret Service over, you guessed right, financial crimes.
It is funny but not in a "hahaha" way, but more in a "what the fuck am I seeing?" way. The report also said that the individual in question had actually been under investigation for nearly 9 years but for some reason, was still allowed to head the organisation that was responsible for the crime that he was being suspected for.
The dude was never actually confirmed because of the said outstanding cases but since he's buddies with the President, the country was strongarmed into accepting this scammer as the head of the organisation meant to catch scammers.
Magu is basically the Michael Jordan of fraud and has benefitted immensely from his ties with Buhari, the President and Lord commander of Nigeria. Am I surprised? Nope, not really. All this type of shit has happened regularly under this regime and they will keep happening because of the leader in charge.
I like to steer clear of politics because of how messy the game can be but sometimes, you just have to look at some situations and just shake your head.
Meanwhile, as stated in Vanguard
“The EFCC’s boss was neither arrested nor forced to honour the invitation. A member of a legal team from the EFCC is also with him on the Panel.”
However, it would be recalled that the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, last month recommended the sack of Magu over alleged corruption allegation.
Which basically points at what we already suspect from all the investigation that has been done on the dude. For what it is worth, I don't trust ALL of them, including the Media, the Minister of Justice and the EFCC acting chairman but at the end of the day, we'll just have to watch and see how things go.
