MY APPLICATION TO THE NEWBIES INITIATIVE
I would confess that when I first joined this platform, I saw it as something to churn out money for me. Nothing more. A month has passed and my views and notions about this platform have totally changed. While the financial aspect of it is still very valid and important, I have come to the realization that the HIVE platform is so much more than that! I have gotten to read poems from other writers and have a view into their perspectives on various topics. I have read food recipes from a number of writers. I have gotten to practice my Spanish with a number of posts from various authors. Yet, these represent just a tip of the large iceberg that is HIVE. I am learning a lot and making numerous meaningful connections, and I am grateful for this.
I would like to give thanks to my mentor on this platform who also introduced me to this, @jaydr, because without his help, I probably would have given up before I even started. I had a really tough time trying to register. With all the keys and passwords I had to keep and save. It seemed so frustrating. Then the struggle continued after I published my first article which didn't make much returns, leaving me a bit disappointed because that was my primary goal then. Then on the resource credits that kept getting exhausted after I made after a few comments. In short, I had a very tough time. But amidst all this, I didn't give up because I had @jaydr who was always encouraging me, guiding me, and delegating HP to me😅. He even boosted my first post with ecency points just to make sure I remained here. If one person could achieve that, then I am eagerly looking forward to the feats that I can achieve with the full weight of the whales in this community behind my back. This is why I am so in love with the idea of this newbies initiative 👌💯🔥.
My thoughts about this initiative are quite simple. I am grateful and curious. Grateful to @starstrings01, @eddiespino and @aliento for birthing such a wonderful idea, and to @theycallmedan for being the financier of this wonderful project(I hope I am right about this). I am curious and sitting on the chair's edge out of excitement at the prospect of all that awaits me in this program and how my growth can be exponentially if I simply apply all that is talked about, which I will. I attended a physical meetup of Hivians in Ibadan, Nigeria, hosted by @nonsowrites. I got to learn a lot more in one day about hive than in the 3 weeks preceding it that I already spent on the platform. I eagerly look forward to the multitude of undiscovered information that is about to be made available to me.
Why do I want to apply to the newbies initiative? Simple. I currently have a reputation of 51.14 and 12.435HP. I have fallen in love with the platform and eager to advance through the ranks as quickly as I can do my content reaches a larger audience and so that I can also be able to give back to the community that fed me by helping with groundbreaking projects that would improve connections on the platform and by delegating HP back to the community to be used as curation rewards. I know there is a lot I currently do not know yet. But one thing is sure; I am very eager to learn and eager to devote time to this platform.
I would be blogging about my life, experiences and views on this platform. I am a fifth year medical student who is also a singer, multi-instrumentist, beatmaker, and swimmer. I write poems, songs, articles and any other piece I need to. I am also an aspiring polyglot who is currently learning 4 languages namely Spanish, french, Chinese, and Korean, with a focus on Spanish. I am a Christian. There are all the things I bring to this platform and you shall be seeing these parts of me better the more I post. I shall be reading all kinds of posts that I can get my eyes on. I am a naturally inquisitive person and I respect people's views and opinions with the knowledge that we can't all agree on the same things and this does not give me the right to malign anyone. Afterall, variety, they say, is the spice of life.
Finally, I really hope I get selected to take part in this great initiative. I can't wait to be a part off it. Cheers to making meaningful and lasting connections here. I await what everyone has to offer and I hope the community find what I have to offer helpful. The opportunity bro also earn as a reward for encouraging content creators is also a very juicy offer.
