It's that time of the year. Time to hit the road and travel for Christmas.
I couldn't do any of this last year because I was loyally serving my Country as a Youth Corper. This time around, I'm free and I can go wherever I want.
Lucky me, I don't need to rack my brain to pain a destination. One place always comes to mind. Onitsha in Anambra State. That's where my parents are staying and I plan to spend this festive period with them.
It's always fun to embark on such trips. They are anxiously waiting for my return and I'm patiently counting down to daybreak. Hehe. Yeah, it's already 22:30 my time and I will be starting the journey by 6 am. Maybe earlier, but I can't afford to leave later because the Country is not safe and I don't want to get home when it's already too dark.
If you know anything about Nigeria, you can attest that Onitsha is not the safest of place to be. Good news is, I'm ready for their usual display of collective madness. In one of my previous trips to Onitsha, someone pretended to be a security official and tried to search my luggage. Hahah. That story is a long one so, let's leave it for another day.
I'm already experienced when it comes to travelling by road in Nigeria. The best way to get started is to book an early ticket. Probably the first or second bus. I didn't try to do it online though. I've had an awkward experience of online booking so, I decided to visit my favourite Mass Transit this evening.
I'm pretty sure that @abidemiademok21 would not have good things to say about this Transportation company because he had a bizarre experience with them over the weekend. To be honest, I also don't have much to say in terms of hyping this company. I'm rather sticking with it because (in my opinion) it's the lesser evil. Lol.
The last time I travelled from IBADAN to ONITSHA was three months ago and I paid $16 as bus fare. This time around, I was charged $25. Talk about mad Inflationary pressure. Lol.
Welcome to Nigeria.
I'm all set and ready for my trip. Now, all I need is good sleep. A very good one.
The last time I travelled, I was tempted to take breakfast before the bus left their park. Just a tiny snack, but I ended up throwing up during the journey. I will do well to remember my awkward relationship with 'breakfast' while embarking on this journey.
I hope to post an update about my trip during the journey. That would only be possible if my internet connection permits me to do so. Hehe.
Biyeeeeeeeeeee.
Safe Trip to Meeeeee
Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop Or Comma
