It was sometime ago last year, November to be precise that my church had to organize a program at Abuloma, in the city of Port Harcourt for 3 days. It was during weekend though, (Friday-Sunday).
I couldn't hesitate, I heard about it and decided to attend the program so I can have the opportunity to visit Port Harcourt city so that when my colleagues in school talk and share their travel experiences I can also share mine.
We used a bus and I sat down comfortably, I saw beautiful places in Port, I learnt that schools there can teach, things are cheap, you can easily find a job, work or something to do.
But it is a busy and a rough place, Yahoo boys full everywhere, 419 everywhere, people there live radically, crazy people everywhere.
The journey was a four hour journey, we left around 2pm and arrived by 5pm and immediately the program kick-started. It was a rewarding one that night, the members there received, cared and treated us well. What I mean by that is that there was enough food for us😜.
The next day which was Saturday came and since the program was in the evening time, our director took us out for a stroll.
We went to the Sea side, I never knew that's how big a sea can be. I was scared and afraid, standing outside the sea port looking at people travelling using ships was what marveled me.
I mean I can't even stand close to the Sea but people like me were busying traveling up and down. When our director noticed that some of us were afraid and scared, he offered to pay so we could enter the ship and go to somewhere close there at least to have an experience.
That's me staring at the sea
We shouted and refused, personally I wouldn't dare enter inside, brothers and sisters water sweet only for cup. We asked people there a lot of questions and I learnt somethings Sha.
We took some pictures for old times sake,we laughed, make merry and enjoyed ourselves.
We stayed there for some hours and later went back to our hotels in order to prepare for the evening session of the program.
The grand finale was on Sunday and after service we went back to Akwa Ibom. It was a memorable one and I enjoyed myself there, I wish to visit some other place sometime.
We went there and came back in peace, there were no issues whatsoever. It was indeed a memorable journey.
