I remember back in those pre-pandemic times (2019), while watching on HBO the decadence of Game of Thrones with its last season, I saw the promo of what would be a new series on the channel. If you are my age or a little older (👵👴), you probably remember that time from 2007 - 2012 approximately, when the series Skins made its appearance on MTV. At first glance, anyone would assume that the character of Rue is responsible for embodying on screen that cliché of "teenager who romanticizes her addiction", due to how the production presents it to you from the beginning. However, as the story unfolds (and you inevitably get caught up in it😵), you realize that it is absolutely the opposite, as you progressively see the serious deterioration of relationships because of the problems of an addict in real life.

On the other hand, one of the attractions and why I love this series is that not everything revolves around its protagonist; and as we get to know each and every one of the characters who interact to a greater or lesser extent with Rue, we also know their stories and why they act as they do, all from the narrative of Rue herself. This means that there are no good people or bad people, there is no black or white, there is a huge scale of grays that makes you understand and even (perhaps) empathize with each of them.
