A cow was the livelihood

Una vaca era el sustento
de un humilde y noble hogar
daba queso y daba leche
hasta llegado el momento.
La vaca empezó a enfermar
por ser la pobre tan vieja
casi no se sostenía
al empezar el ordeño.

Cada quien tiene una vaca

La madre con sus tres hijos
se vieron muy preocupados
y el mayor de los hermanos
tomó la palabra y dijo:
Sacrifiquemos la vaca
antes que vaya a morir
así podemos venderla
para la plata invertir.

Por un costo su asadura
y otro costo por la carne
y su piel al artesano
al que hace las monturas.
Fue aceptada la propuesta
no se escucharon reproches
su madre y sus dos hermanas
acordaron esa noche.

Se compraron dos becerros
dos puercos y dos conejos
varios sacos de alimentos
que engordaron su festejo.
Con el tiempo fue creciendo
hasta tener una finca
y que gracias a la vaca
la familia fue emprendiendo.
