Hey friends of Hive, welcome to my blog! I am super excited because we tried something new in this week’s entry.
We are in Week 278 of the Hive Open Mic Weekly Prompt, and our theme is to sing “Funny Songs.” While I was sitting quietly at home, a friend of mine, Ov, just called me and said he was coming over. After he arrived, I told him I wanted to sing and post in the Hive Open Mic Community, but I didn’t know which song to sing. He then suggested this very Chinese song titled “Affinities” by Yung. He said we should sing it.
I didn’t even know how to sing the song, but he told me he knows how to sing it, although he doesn’t know the meaning. So I asked him to check and share the source which he got the song from, and if there were lyrics, I would love to have them. Unfortunately, he couldn’t provide that, but I personally tried to get the lyrics myself and noticed the song was one of a kind. I really love the rhythm and the voice of the singer.
I got emotional while listening to the song. Some people said it’s about agriculture, while others said it’s about God—more like a gospel song. But I really love the song, it might sound funny for some, while some will really enjoy the song.
