Greetings, people of Hive Open Mic, happy Carnival Tuesday! I’m glad to meet you for week 256 with the theme of Carnival. When I heard about the theme, the joy and excitement that these dates represent came to my mind.
The Carnival festivities are, as we already know, a very popular celebration that takes place on the Monday and Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of Lent, with the presence of dances, masks, costumes, parades, music and parties, depending on each country and culture. The truth is that it is a time of joy, fun, recreation and also of certain excesses. I believe that the important thing is to enjoy these holidays in a healthy way.
Regarding this theme, the piece that I share with you today accompanying on Bass and Congas, is the song La Vida es un Carnaval (Life is a Carnival), by the famous Cuban singer Celia Cruz as part of her album Mi Vida es Cantar, released in 1998. I took the song track and deleted the original bass and lowered the volume of the general percussion with the help of the App. Moises, to accompany with my own instruments. I hope you like it.
¡Saludos, gente de Hive Open Mic, feliz martes de Carnaval! Me alegra encontrarme con ustedes para la semana 256 con la temática precisamente referente al Carnaval. Cuando supe de la temática me vino a la mente la alegría y algarabía que estas fechas representan.
Las también llamadas fiestas carnestolendas son, como ya sabemos, una celebración muy popular que se lleva a cabo el lunes y martes previo al miércoles de ceniza, que marca el inicio de la Cuaresma, con la presencia de bailes, máscaras, disfraces, desfiles, música y fiestas, dependiendo de cada país y cultura. Lo cierto es que es un tiempo de alegría, diversión, esparcimiento y también de ciertos excesos. Considero que lo importante es disfrutar sanamente de estos días festivos.
A propósito de esta temática, la pieza que les comparto hoy acompañando en Bajo y Congas, se trata de la canción La Vida es un Carnaval, de la célebre cantante cubana Celia Cruz como parte de su álbum Mi Vida es Cantar, publicado en el año 1998. Tomé la pista de canción y suprimí el bajo original y baje volumen a la percusión general con la ayuda de la App. Moises, para acompañar con mis propios instrumentos. Espero que les guste.
