This is the Week 155 entry for the Hive Open Mic, with the theme of 'DNA'..
Written in 1970 by Cat Stevens, it was originally a part of a project with Nigel Hawthorne, destined to become a film set during the Russian Revolution. A son who is desperate to join the Revolution, against the wishes of his father.
Cat Stevens was seriously ill and close to death with tuberculosis in 1969 and, likely due to this, the project never really got off the drawing board, but thankfully both he and the song survived.
Not my own suggestion, this, but was mentioned to my good friend @anna-newkey by @jasperdick, and I thought "Hmmm..."
