For two years I have been devotedly walking the path of the Song Carrier.
When I met Song Carriers found Madi Sato and her husband Timothy McLaughlin in May of 2018, my whole body felt electrified, all the tiny hairs on my neck, arms and legs standing straight out. I stood up, walked over to her, and said, "Whatever you're offering, I am IN." There have only been a few times in my life when I have felt this sure about a choice; when my mind, body, heart, and soul feel so completely aligned and there's absolutely no space for doubt or second guessing. This was one of those times. So, in September 2018, I journeyed with my dear soul sister to Santa Fe for a Song Carriers immersion. This experience changed my life, as it helped me strip away layers of illusion from my being, and I was able to see and feel the gentle core of my being more clearly than I had in many years.
Singing activated an ancient knowing, an intrinsic gift that we have as humans, to express ourselves through our voices. In the Song Carriers way, we sing the songs of the Earth and have been sanctioned to be shared with all women. Some of these songs you may already know. We also sing the "new songs" of the Earth that are bubbling up from the waters, the fire, the trees, and the souls of the women. We sing as a way to connect with the Great Mystery/The All/God/Creation.

A central practice of Song Carriers is acknowledging that the fire and water are the ones holding the space; that we humans are not the space holders. When we activate the fire and water altars, we remember this simple truth and we tap into a power that is as deep as the Earth herself. We are held and able to safely open our hearts and minds and tap into universal consciousness and our higher selves.
I offer this song that was one of the first songs I learned as a Song Carrier. It originates from Chilean songstress Isabel Ruiz.

This is the heart of a longer form song called “En El Cielo” by Isabel Ruiz from Chile
Siento el (fuego / agua) dentro dentro
Siento el (fuego / agua), aqui te encuentro (x2)
I feel the (fire / water) inside
I feel the (fire / water), here I find you
Pachamama en este (fuego / agua)
Pachamama, aqui te encuentro (x2)
Pachamama in this (fire / water)
Pachamama, here I find you
Thank you for singing your own medicine songs. Whether you share them with the birds, the fire, the water, or this online human network, they made a difference in uplifting the vibration and remembering us all to wholeness. So, thank you, from the depths of my heart.
