Todays hive workshop training was insightful, value packed and inspiring.
@Ijelady was the moderator and educated the newbies on how to navigate the hive platform and easily get to understand it. She started by telling us about the massive awareness and publicity she did in Akure by registering new persons on hive, while onboarding them, she also shared her experience on also setting up new supermarkets/local stores so that they can accept shopping using HBD which went well and successful.
I was made to understand what the term "compounding means in hive blockchain. She explained that compounding means reinvesting rewards or earnings to generate more rewards or growth over time. She said that tokens/coins gotten from hive can be compounded till it accumulates. This can be achieved by staking. In essence compounding is the act of buying and selling tokens, coins, rewards earned on the hive platform.
I learnt that currently we have more than 100 tokens on hive which she listed emphasising more on leo token which is very good hence the need to buy them and keep for future purposes.
She also mentioned about hivepower giving the most influence on hike.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO A NEWBIE?
This was a topic she took time to explain because as newbies when not guided properly make mistakes.
She said the following tips can help me newbie grow.
- Èngaging/participating on weekly contest
- Learn to write quality content not casual ones.
- Dropping of meaningful and highly intellectual comments on posts
ABOUT SPENDHBD: Spend Hbd helps us in getting cashbacks from 20, 25, 35 and 40% of our actual spendings while shopping.
BENEFITS OF SHOPPING USING SPENDHBD
- Spendhbd is a huge project hence you earn cash backs from it after shopping.
I learnt on how one can join the different communities available on hive and how to conveniently subscribe to ones that resonates with you.
ABOUT MICROBLOGGING: I got to understand what microblogging means which refers to sharing short concise posts/updates on the hive platform. Here limited number of words are used (words shouldn't be more than 240). One is expected to share real stories when microblogging.
HOW TO STAY ACTIVE ON HIVE.
@Ijelelady shared an idea with us. More like a tip that will not only help maķe one grow but also to stay active. These i will be listing below:
- Hive Goal: Share your goals for the week on a monday morning.
2.Staking: On tuesday every hiver should try participate on staking. Staking as explained
is the process of locking up hive tokens to convert them into hive power. This can be done in the we alive community using the hashtag alive and thriving once done and a before and after screenshot of it taken. By participating in this you earn alive token.
She further gave another knowledgeable information that on every 15th day of the month, is leo power update so we should endeavour to power up at least of 50 leo.
And that every 1st day of the month is hive power update and that every hiver should try power up at least of 10 hive.
If you can't meet up doing this, she gave an alternative of powering up 1 hive every day for a month (30 days)
Another fun thing i learnt about hive platform is its ability to keep database and information. I learnt that hive sends us a birthday notification once we are 1 year, 2, 3 years etc which marks how long we have spent being on the hive platform.
Post about your daily activities on Wednesday. This could be a personal vlog about your self, your happy/fun moments etc.
Post about your day activities too on Thursday. Share your experiences encountered during the day and this can be done on the we alive community.
Èngage on fridays by commenting, sharing, reblogging on posts. This can be done on at least of 5 to 15 posts a day. Do this by commenting meaningfully and strategically.
Talk about the posts that you engaged on, on fridays highlighting the lessons learnt, what you picked out so far and the core values it added to you.
With this you are sure of a good line up of activities on hive while also contributing to the positive growth of the platform and the ecosystem at large.
Ijelady ended by telling us never to plagiarise ones post as it has a penalty attached to it.
I am really glad i attended todays workshop because i learnt a lot of things which i cant wait to implement. And i hope another person learns from this post as well.
If you read up to this point, thank you. Also your comments, reblogs will encourage me to do better
With these we rounded up the meeting while also scheduling on the date for our hive meetup and how it will be organised.
