My name is Nelson-@Mikealson, and I’m a full-stack engineer with experience in building scalable and user-friendly web applications. I’m currently working on an exciting project to develop an online store for a brand that is part of the spendHBD campaign. They’re looking to integrate HBD as a payment option, and I’m reaching out to better understand the technical aspects of this integration.
While researching about the above integration I had a few questions and I hope that the the Hive Keychain community provides some information and answers to my questions like -
How to generate Receipts for payment using Hive keychain api?
How to validate and verify completed and canceled payments?
I already understand that both are been handled by an API from Hive Keychain and I would love to understand the specifics and possibly a documentation.
Over the past few months, I have been following the spend HBD project. I think it’s a great initiative to promote further adoption by local and international businesses when they accept or receive Hive or HBD as a payment option.
The project has had great success since its inception, considering that more and more businesses continue to adopt this payment option with a large transaction volume per month. Especially here in Nigeria where tons of local stores and new businesses continue to adopt HBD as a payment option.
Recently, I got approached by a client whose business accepts HBD as a payment option and currently participating in the spendHBD program to build an online store for their business, they also wish to extend this payment option to all of its customers who wish to pay shop and purchase items through its new online store.
I took a look at the hive keychain set up and the whole process is just seamless and straightforward while using the keychain app which acts as a point of sale. However considering the context of online transactions, not very much.
For this to work, we would need to generate a QR code for the payment and a unique memo using the api from Hive keychain since each transaction memo is unique and identifies with a particular store purchase which acts as a way to validate purchases.
So customers can choose between scanning the QR code if they are paying with their mobile phone or they could pay by sending the required amount to the username with the unique memo.
Transactions are also verified and confirmed using the KeyChain infrastructure and API.
This integration has the potential to significantly boost mass adoption by enabling businesses to seamlessly incorporate HBD payments into their online stores. While I understand that this feature may not yet be fully developed, I’m eager to contribute to its implementation.
