As I was writing a while back in this post about how I had started a powerdown to fund my Hivefest ticket some things had changed. The general price of alts and hive in this case, and that made some changes to the powerdown.
I had anticipated to only have a two week powerdown to fund everything ticketwise. But as we all know the price of Hive is subject to change just as everything else in the crypto market, and we can say that it has not changed for the better
Where at first I would have to pay 803 Hive for my minnow ticket, here on the Hivefest website you can instantly see what the ticket will cost you at the current prices. Today the price of at first 803 Hive back then, would cost me 1094 hive today. Not really a sweet score, but this 20% decline in price is fully in line with the rest of the alt market.
Better to wait?
As it feels like the Bitcoin market is heading towards the bottom of the current channel of 59K-73K that also means there is a lot of room for th price to head up. Better said, if I would sell my Hive now at $0.23 per piece, it would be an extremely bad deal as Hive is currently in discount modus.

And as there is still 78 days to go until Hivefest starts at 10 september, it feels like it better to wait until the price goes up for a bit more before I actually buy the ticket. I had let my powerdown run a bit further than the anticipated two weeeks because the price was dropping so much and the price tanked. Maybe in the while before september the price will tank even more, who knows.
But it is worth the try to see if the price goes up for a bit more so I can also use some Hive on hotelcosts as well, and not only on tickets.
I like the idea of funding. You write about something, it pays you. Then with those funds you can get tickets and travel abroad to do something with Hive, which you can also write about again, and have some decent travel there as well.
I call that win-win. But it would be a not nicer if the prices of everything would go up for a bit so the selling won't hurt so much.
Hopefully it will only be a matter of time?
