Yes you read that right.
For the first time ever (!!!), I will be attending HiveFest this year!
This will be an extremely rare opportunity for me to meet all of you in-person after more than 6 years since this account was created. This has been the moment I have been eyeing for years and something I can't wait for.
It will also be the first time of me travelling alone ever in my entire life and first in over 12 years since I visited a (and only one ever) foreign country.
Bought the tickets 💸 🎟️
Have been hunting for flights and hotels in the last few days, and that ended my 13-week Github streak.
Everything has been bought including the HiveFest ticket itself. All this have cost me $2,000 HBD worth so far. This is noticeably cheaper than what I expected from my initial estimations, as this year's HiveFest ticket price is the lowest I have ever seen for in-person editions at just $299 HBD or €275. Combine that with highly favourable market conditions in the broader crypto sphere makes this year's event something I can finally afford.
I'm presenting as well
As many of you have seen in the official announcement, I will be speaking at the event to make this trip more worthwhile.
My presentation will be on my currently unannounced project that will be used on VSC Blocks and potentially other Hive websites. The core package should be ready to use, although probably not production-ready yet until more testing is done. Watch out for dev updates for this on my blog.
One side note though, I saw PeakD's announcement this morning on pretty much the exact same thing as the one I'm currently working on 🤦♂️, I guess this is one of the side-effects of decentralized nature of Hive.
