Greetings, friends of @silverbloggers.
This week's topic: A Recipe for a Memory becomes somewhat nostalgic, as recipes are closely linked to family gatherings, those occasions when we all come together to share a meal, whether for a holiday, birthday, Christmas, days off, or simply weekends.
Food has always been a special focus at family gatherings. I would dare to say that every upcoming event is an opportunity to get together beforehand to plan what we are going to prepare, who will do the shopping, how much each family will contribute, when we will meet to prepare the food, whose house it will be prepared in, among many other details.
When we were teenagers or young adults, some of these dishes were “traumatic” for my sisters and me because of what it meant to prepare them and the way my mother did it. For example, by February or March, she had already decided what the main dish would be for Christmas dinner, and if it was going to be a stuffed turkey or a baked ham, she would look for where to buy it so she could raise it for the next nine months.
Of course, the care and cleaning were done by his daughters, who had to keep the pen clean and feed the animal. My brother, who was the oldest of the children, was exempt from these tasks because when the time came, he would be responsible, along with my mother, for slaughtering and cleaning the animal.
But this supposed trauma is now a beautiful memory of a family experience where we all contributed and shared tasks that later yielded a rewarding result, full of flavor and joy. From this experience, the dish I liked the most was stuffed turkey; my mother's stuffing is exquisite.
About four years ago, anchored in that memory, I prepared it for a lunch that I like to give to my sisters and sisters-in-law at my house before New Year's. I substituted chicken for turkey due to the excessive cost of processed turkey, and the result was truly exquisite. We enjoyed it very much, and at lunchtime, it was a good time to remember those old days when almost everything started from scratch, acquiring the live animal.
I posted the recipe and its presentation in the @foodiesbehive community, and today I rescued it to share it here, [See](@damarysvibra/pollo-relleno-stuffed- chicken-esp-ing), however, I will give a brief summary to give you an idea of its flavor.
